Shooting in the Pow with DSLR

Plastic bag around the body and parts of the lens. Last thing you want on a perfect pow day is for your camera to get rekt by the water.

Having a weather proof camera and lens combo helps quite a bit. It's not indestructible by my DSLR has been covered with so much snow and it's never had an issue.

Yeah this was my first thought, just ordered a 5 pack of drawstring plastic camera covers on amazon

I've had an amazing amount of snow on my camera throughout the years and thankfully I haven't had problems...so I feel like a you'd be good unless you like drop it in the snow and leave it there....or your super worried

also check out Media & Arts...ze proper location for dis thread

Just always remember to close your camera bag after you take your camera out. Being covered in snow after a skier runs sluggish onto you is one thing, having a bag full of snow is another.

This happened to me at Abay last year. RIP - Everything was good, luckily.

I have never had any issues shooting on pow days while it is snowing. I do make sure to wipe all the snow that does accumulate when I have my camera out, but the weather sealing is pretty good so I have never had any issues. Always good to keep a couple spare dry cloths to wipe stuff down too. Then at the end of the day, I will take all my camera equipment out of my bag and let it air dry.

Make sure your bag is fully closed like mentioned above. It's real shitty when someone throws a slash or spray towards you and your bag fills up. That was definitely a one time mistake when I first started shooting because I was in a rush. Just take your time.
