Shitty Ski Shop

I live in Phoenix AZ (ski in flagstaff 3 hours north) and i have a ski pro right by my house in south chandler (suburb of phoenix). Ski Pro, for those of you who dont know, is a chain of ski shops in the west. they have skis, snowboards, and water equipment such as wetsuits, waterskis, and wakeboards. they also have a skate shop in there as well. well the other day i went there to browse through their skis and was very disappointed.

being from the desert, i dont exactly have a lot of other options for ski shops, nor do i go to other shops unless its in colorado (i have a house there too) which i dont very often. so ski pro is all i got. i go in to ski pro and go to the back to look at the skis, and found everything BUT what i was there to look at.

they had plenty of race skis, and the skis uncle bill gets for him and his kids to go on the family trip to vail on christmas vacation. but nothing for freeskiers. the selection of twintip skis was VERY limited. two pairs of solomons: one mens and one women's. i dont remember what they were.

K2 was most of what twintips they did have. they have K2 Ext, plus some powder skis from k2 as well. other than that, there was nothing twin tip. there was no line, no armada, no atomic twintips, nothing! the only place where there were twintips were in the kids skis. like 100cm skis. they had plenty of twintips for the kiddos.

sorry for the rant, but idk why i cant fucking find some ace of spaces or afterbangs

order online man! it might not always be as great cause you cant try stuff on first. but it sounds like your best bet in this situation

I assume there are better shops in flagstaff? Try there, or just order online, unless its boots. ALWAYS, try on boots in person before buying them.

yeah buy your skis online buy alot of online stores should be having their end of the season sales soon

I had a ski shop call me and ask me where i wanted my skies mounted (after i already had gone in and they had forgotten to mount them) and when i told the guy i wanted them at center he was like "o good cus i just mounted them and wanted to make sure".... glad they mounted them first then called to make sure it was right

There are 3 shops in my area. One of which carries twintips. The shop orders types of skis that sell. It seem like most kids that I know buy skis online, so it does not make sense for a shop to buy skis that wont get sold. All three of the shops used to carry twintips, but they do not anymore. The one has old solomon thrusters and spks sitting around.

I tried so hard to get my local shop back in England to stock something other than 'volume skis'. That is all they want to do is sell as many pairs of mediocre carvers as they possibly can.

They hooked up a deal with line, got a fairly decent range in and sold almost none. Last I heard is they are back to just K2, Salamon and marker.

Shops in cities just want to sell lots of a medicore product to the citiots.

It was all about the flyers.

I remember being so stoked when I got them.

Good thing every scratch model was pretty much the same! I love my scratch FS WRSs, so slight, poppy, stiff, and bomber!

I don't think its fair to call them a shitty ski shop.

It sounds like you live in a smaller ski market and it would be stupid for the ski shop owner to stock tons of freski gear. I bet 90% of his clients are familys traveling else where and it sounds like they stock the shit that they buy.

Just my 2 cents

Yes, because a ski that delaminated and blew out edges faster than Whitney smoked rock should hold the title of best/most bomber ski ever.

they may not be the most bomber skis, but id say that theyre still the most responsive park ski made to date, theyre amazing in pipe too
