Shit Skier's Say About Snowboarding...WOW!

Why can't people just enjoy what they do? Both sports are sick and shouldn't have to compete so much with each other.

AHAHAHHAHA too good, the best one by far was

"and then they put on their earrings, and their nose earrings, and go out snowboarding......ughhhhh."

bingo. also snowboarders would have a negative impact on the mountain, mainly traverses, shit would get ugly

thats it. personally as a snowboarder i dont care. like the one guy said, theres thousands of other mountains to snowboard at'. i wouldnt want to snowboard at a mountain whos patrons had such prejudice towards what i do. also from what i gather theres a lot of traversing and shit at alta that would be a nightmare for snowboarders. so fuck it, let them keep that mountain.

EWWWWW THAT WAS GROSS. Those people pass judgement in the same way that makes people racist; noticing a negative trait about someone and attributing to how they look. Totally inappropriate, if those people could hear what they were saying and really realize what it meant... uhghh. That was fucked, discrimination lives!

Also, yes, good business decision fur sure. People love to think highly of themselves.

ill leave this in this thread too

hopefully nobody has a problem with dress codes at clubs

and downhill only mountain bike trails. fuck that breeze

fuck i cant believe my boss makes me shave, its such discrimination because i work with a chick with facial hair and he doesnt make her shave. also she has long hair and i have to keep mine trimmed.

i cant believe there is a carpool lane on i15 in slc. its against the law to be in there with one only person in the car, fuck that prejudice.

i cant believe i cant go into the mormon temple. fucking baptised mormons only, fuck that.

fuckin 4x4 cars only on the mountain pass, what the fuck is this bull shit prejudice, nazis treating me different because of my car.

i cant believe i cant fuckin afford to ski at vail. the pass is just too damn expensive. bullshit corporate nazis ruining skiing. everyone should be able to afford to go skiing.

I hate the whole, "oh, it's discrimination argument". You're not born a "skier" or "snowboarder", it's a choice of what you want to strap on your feet each day. Alta is a private business that has a right to refuse service to customers who don't comply to their rules. It's like showing up to an ice rink with roller blades, and saying the ice rink is discriminating because they won't let you use their rink with roller blades on.

Somewhat relevant. Me and my friend who snowboards went and rode down Deer Valley and ended up gettin chased by patrol and we were hiding in the trees at the end and found a way out eventually. Some skiers were laughing some were yelling and got pretty pissed.

but its on public lands. thats their argument for that. If it were on private land owned by alta then their is no problem. but since its technically land thats supposed to be available for the general public to use and their not letting people thats where the point is. but like ive said before, who gives a fuck. go to a different mountain.

From what i can gather they arent restricting the use of the land to skiers only its the privately owned lifts which have been buil on public land by consent of the forrestry comission there is mothing against boarders sledding up or snowshoeing up and riding the groomers down. The land is owned publicy and is maintained for skiing by consent for alta ski area corp. this doesnt make the land private just the uplift.

I can't ride a MX bike in the Boston Common, but I can ride it in other public parks in MA probably(I don't ride just an example). It's up to the management, private management or not, of the park to decide what is allowed(in this case Alta), also there are so many mountains that are better to snowboard at around there, like I said before.

good point. this also makes me think about people getting in trouble for trying to hit rails and such in public parks. It may be a stretch but i think its similar. the space is for the public but who gets to decide what people and what use, the management of it i guess. But that doesnt mean its right or fair.

Well there is a certain aspect of property damage with hitting rails, some rails you can scratch the paint and what not, so if someone with authority wants you to leave then there is not much you do but just listen and leave.

Yeah i get the paint scratching thing but then i think how is that any different from kids playing on a jungle gym, that gets all scratched up too. or people running around throwing frisbies and balls, they dig up the grass. its all pretty arbitrary and dumb i think. but oh well.

I hope no one has had their feelings hurt after one of the

most popular posts of the summer racked up well over 5,000 views and

over 100 comments.
Which article was that? Non other than the yearly, no, daily debate of ALTA IS FOR SKIERS.

LINK: Sh*t ALTA Skiers Say About Snowboarding | WOW!!! Tell Us How You Guys Really Feel…

While reading the comments and laughing the whole time at the internet rage going on I took it upon myself to email Connie Marshall who is the Public Relations Director of Alta. Here’s what she had to say….

“Alta Ski Area is one of the oldest ski areas in the

country, poised to celebrate 75 years this season. The owners of our

company have made many business decisions over the years. One of those

was to be a ski area that focuses on skiers.”

I guess I can respect a company's right to refuse that business but I think what I dislike about this video is just the ignorance of the people. The customers all justify it by saying snowboarders can't board in control and that snowboarders bring a certain "attitude". we all know that these are not particular to a group of people but to specific individuals. yes some snowboarders suck at snowboarding but there are just as many out of control skiers as boarders and just as many hooligan skiers as boarders.

OP enough with your self-righteous, typical 30 year old man poopy-poop. You really hurt PBP's image.

Snowboarders used to have their own hill in the midwest called raging buffalo, but at some point they started allowing skiers
