Shirt contest... fail

well aparently the contest is closed for entering since there is already a maximum of entries. The only problem is that a quarter of those are garbage ( theres a plain white t shirt for fuck sakes) and an other quarter is far from doable since they break almost every restriction clearly written in the rules. For example the person in first place right now ( Aaron) has a sick design but, with the shirt making technology from the office, its in no way doable. I think we should remove at least all of the shirts that can not be made or that break a rule since they are taking up space and stoping people who actualy want to give it a real try and put some effort from entering.
 
Yeah I thought we had till the 28/29th .... (Monday) to get entries in. I'm still working on one.....
 
regardless its still fuckin complicated to cut that out of vinyl and make it look nicethe sloth one would have to be modded also because the "newschoolers.com" on the sleeve wouldn't stay on properly

THen there is the problem of vote counting, etc. THis way all the data is contained in one system. Yes we will moderate this contest, yes you still have 2 days, and yes we will edit the winning design to fit our needs.

Everyone got carried away, but who cares? All mods have a simple delete key, and besides you guys went in there and voted your brains out. Much has been sorted out.

Its very simple for us to delete the cheat voting in the backend, but funny enough usually the results don't actually change all that much. Sure people cheat, but that tends to get overwhelmed by the masses of people who care about the winner.

The forums are cluttered enough, and we need to host things like contests where they belong. Now we can do this over and over and over... it'll be fun. :)

 
Man I'm really looking through this, and there's a ton of wicked designs in there! I'm still rooting for the sloth FTW, but this leads me to see that we should probably pretty rapidly have a round #2.

Some of the shirts don't fit the rules for our current shirt-making technology, but we could have a round for winter with a different shirt process that would make most of these eligable.

I'm really excited that so many people entered. Now how about this... instead of JUST moderating (which we will do) why don't all of you go in there and vote properly?

Don't cheat vote, just start at the first entry and give each design your god-honest vote. Each time you click a rating the system will give you the next one, so you could probably go through all of them in no time.

Vote honestly. If you or your buddy doesn't win this round, there will be plenty more for you to take part in! Vote for a shirt you want - because in a few days it will be available to buy in the store.

Voting is the backbone of our society. Sure voting is a mess, but its a lot better than dictating from the top down.

Still so many things wrong with this contest that you a conveniently failing to address.

Why are kids allowed to enter as many times as they want? Anyone who actually cared about this contest, was going to spend time designing and by the time they were done it was full of kids who took a paintbrush in MS paint and wrote newschoolers on a template. Why have mods not gone through the list and just deleted the ones that clearly had no intentions of winning or trying to clear the rules? Why are kids allowed to PM random kids begging for votes, should be an instant ban from the competition.

Either way this contest has turned into a joke, and if you don't believe me, look around and see who submitted entries. Are they middle school kids, or college aged and over kids who went to school for graphic design? (yes we have plenty of those kids, search the media and arts section.) I will not be buying any t-shirt simply because of how poorly this contest was run.
 
A@ron or whatever his fucking name is, not_a_gangster, and [J]iberish ruined this whole contest IMO.
 
it's a shame this turned into such a shitshow, there were obviously some entries that were very good and people took a lot of time on.

then there were ones that said ns with the pic of that fugly girl that has become an ns meme.
 
I just realized A@ron pmed a ton of people askign them to vote for his design when it can't even be fuckin made.
 
Doug, I think you should set me up with a delete buton for this since I have nothing better to do and I know what is doable and what is not since I know the vinyll process and know what is doable and what is not. Il be making a lot of these shirts also!
 
i went through about half of them voting them pretty honestly. except i gave all the ones that broke rules a 1 along with all the ones that looked like they took 5 seconds to make but werent meant as a joke
 
+ i went through it giving a lot of 1s, voting honestly here...and i just was really trying to understand why people posted like 2-4 of the same shirts...in different colors...

the cost should be around the same price as the neonderthal shirt maybe a bit more or less.

size: im pretty sure these are going to be made for average size t shirts and not for tall

and as for the time, I have no clue since jim is in charge of all of this and I dont want to say a date thats too early and gives pressure
 
Haha thanks for trying to keep everyone informed Matt!

I'm going to try to get the Sloth shirt up in the store as soon as possible, hopefully by the end of the week/ Monday the latest.

As for pricing the shirts they will cost 15.99$

Would you guys be interested in having it as a tall tee?

We may switch up the colors a bit or let you guys have a choice of colors for the logo like we've been doing with our other shirts.
