Shipping Skis USA TO AUS

Hey guys,

My names Tom and I from Sydney Australia, yes we do have some snow.

I was wondering if anyone has shipped skis from USA to AUS and if so what the cheapest option for them was?

I've gotten a few quotes from UPS and Fedex and their asking about 230 bucks which is a fair bit.

Anyone got any answers?

CHEEEEERS,

Tom

I'd probably avoid shipping skis to Aus. I'm in New Zealand and the biggest issue with shipping skis from the US to NZ is customs. You have to pay for the skis themselves, then pay shipping and then most likely have to pay customs which is an extra 15% here in NZ so it pretty much works out to be the same price as just buying them from a local store.

Lastly if you're buying park skis you're going to have to deal with not having a warranty or not having the security of being able to take them back to the shop. All mountain skis should be fine (they shouldn't break) but park skis if they break you can't just take them back to the shop and get them replaced.you have to deal with trying to get a replacement shipped out or something.

I agree with you. Yet in Aus the skis are way more expensive than over in NZ. I dont know what theyre taxing us but its a fair bit more than over where you are. So it ends up being significantly cheaper for me to buy skis from the US and pay the shipping, even if it 230 bucks. Is the customs charge really that expensive? thats the only charge that could set me back?

If NZ is as cheap as you say it is....then why not buy from NZ and ship to Australia? I could be wrong but shouldn't that be cheaper since they are so close?

It never ends up being cheaper. Those prices may look cheaper but tht is because there are no aus taxes I the product. So when you get them shioped over the tax gets added when they enter the country. It will end up costing you a fair bit. I just order a few bike things which cost $100 and even that had $20 tax just coming into canada so it can be quite a bit.

But it as was said above a bigger factor will be warentie issues. Your best bet really is to buy from a shop in aus. It will be the cheapest way to go.
