Shipping Skis Overseas

Hey guys, I'm moving to Wroclaw, Poland for college and it's a given that I'll take my skis with me. I was wondering how I can take them to overseas?

(I'm flying Lufthansa and leaving the States in June)

Just book them in as luggage, it'll be ~€40 and usually European airlines count skis and boots as one bag even if the boots are in a seperate boot bag.

Lufthansa allow free ski carriage on their flights. Usually its one pair of skis but its worth asking, they might not be too picky with a double bag. I know a few folk that have got away within Europe. I would double check if its the same on international flights 1st though as I know it is within Europe.
