Shipping skis from the US to New Zealand? +K

I want to ship some skis from the US over here to NZ and all the quotes I've got have been rediculously high. Does anyone know any good places that will ship for a more reasonable price than the $150-$200 that I have been quoted?

Karma for anyone who can help out or anything.

Thanks

Unless you are a shop like bc.com with huge volumes and discounts with shipping companies thats probably the best you're gonna get. If your not in any rush, try and find a sea shipping company, it's much cheaper since they don't have the size and weight limits of a plane. It is insanely expensive getting skis over here. Trust me on that.

Finding someone with a corporate account with UPS/Fedex would be ideal.

If you're looking to buy new skis online, Porters Tahoe and Al's Ski Barn both have pretty cheap international shipping.

Otherwise there are some companies that ship large packages by sea for pretty cheap. I'm not sure what they're called, but they are usually for travelers sending home oversize or overweight luggage, so try searching something along those lines.
