SHIPPING SKIS FOR $100?!?!??! SOMEONE HELP

Hey guys so I have someone who is looking to buy my skis and I live in MA and they are being shipped to Utah. I went to UPS today to see how much it would be to ship and they told me $100 + the cost of the box which is like another $20. Is this right? It seems way more expensive then I thought it would be. What should I do? Please help.

Yeah, that seems excessive. Just call up some other shipping companies in your area and get a quote. Tell them the weight and dimensions. Keep the buyer in the loop too so that maybe they'll agree to work out something.

ship them via greyhound it's cheaper than most couriers and you can just tape cardboard around them you don't need to buy a box. I've done it with my own skis.

yeah use USPS... its even cheaper to fly with them.

No way I shipped skis from Washington to California once for like 20 bucks using the post office. Shouldn't be that much. You could buy a huge ass box that fits them or just use a couple strips of cardboard and tape the shit out of them to get the size down.

Look for another shipping alternative. I went to ups once, and they had the highest shipping prices for sure. Luckily a local hardware store in my town offers shipping. I was selling a pair of K2 domains, they weighed them right up and shipped them off for me for $40! I did have my own box tho.

Check ur local wind patterns and find a day where u can connect the skis to a balloon and have em float their way to ur target

FedEx Smart Post or Home Delivery would probably be the cheapest. Either that or parcel select via USPS.

find a box outta the dumpster then ship it for like 20$ with USPS first class package- tracking isn't nessecaary

It is more at UPS because skis are what they call incomps. The skis don't fit on sorting belts so a human has to move them by cart.

go to your local shop and ask them to ship for you, bring beer for the guys and 40 bucks.
