Shipping costs from the U.S???

Just wanted to know if anyone had bought anything big from America like skis or outerwear? And if so what was the duty/tax like getting it into the UK? Is it worth it?
 
It varies quite a lot depending on what sort of item it is, just google UK (item name) import duty. You've also got to consider shipping costs and times, I bought a GoPro from canada which took almost two months to get here with standard delivery. Fortunately I didn't have to pay any import duty which is usually high for electronics because the seller marked it as a gift, meaning it wouldn't get taxed. I wouldn't ask bigger companies to do that sort of thing though as its a little shady.
 
I've purchased a pair of skis from the US. It cost me $150 for shipping. I've no idea how much it will cost for the import duty as they haven't been built yet, let alone delivered..
 
i tried to get some stickers from 4frnt and it was $70 shipping to uk

evo gear's cheapest is $40 for a t-shirt

and fd wear is $50 for a hoodie an t
 
Did you have to pay any duty on the FD gear, I want one of the 2012 suits you see. But if the duty is a killer I'm going to get one from fas.c because the shipping is free and there is no duty shipping within the EU.
 
I just gave up on fd in the end they do ship by dhl or ups so I don't know if there will be dutys but they also ship readonably cheap by USPS which will probably include dutys
 
i found it cheaper if you contact them. and say like :

your stuff is sick and i really want it but the shipping charges are just way too much for me as i live in the uk.

they are average people so they will and understand that money is tight so usually they email me back either saying sorry we cant do anything or giving me a slightly cheaper price. well thas the case with level 1 ect.
 
Thanks for the tip man. I e-maild their customer services and just asked if the duty was going to be high and they said that they would wright down a cheaper price on the package to keep the duty cost down. sweet
 
fas.c looks like nicer outwear anyways! I'd go with that.

But I've only bought a few things from Level 1 and on some Icon2s the shipping was about $20/$25 and same for a tee I bought from them.

But my friend bought a GoPro from the US and the shipping was rediculous and it got stuck in the import place for ages.
 
shipping from gopro official web is pricey !! what is it like 80 dollars just to ship but by the way it did come quckly, say like 4-5 days later i had it !!!
 
i just asked gopro if they had a uk dealer and i got it from there.

also i won that contest and im hoping theres no duty on the boxes of prizes
