Shinny Hockey?

I'm heading out Jan 15th for the rest of the season (I'm driving out, so I can pack more crap)..and I'm trying to figure out what to carry with me:

Is there anywhere that they have pick-up hockey (i.e. should I bother bringing my skates/stick, etc.) and if so is it full-equipment type deal, or real shinny hockey?

And you are going where? You are in the Vancouver and Whistler forum. That's a pretty big area, with lots of Hockey rinks.

whistler (Alpine meadows - but I have a car if I there is something that's a short drive away..)

Yep, there's a hockey rink right in Alpine Meadows. It's called Meadowpark Sports Center. There is drop in hockey, but you'd have to pick up a schedule to find out the times.

..guess we'll have to see how tight I can pack the car with a full hockey bag and my dog...
