Shin/Calf bang

This year my shins and mostly my calves have been hurting me a ton. This year I switched over to FullTilts from Salomon SPK's, and the pain has never been worse. It wasn't bad when I had salomons, just with full tilts. Everytime I land the slightest bit backseat my whole leg just kills. And don't tell me to not land backseat, it hurts even if I try to butter something. Anyone have any tips? Or is it the boots?

personaly, when i ride a good 5-6 days straight, i do the same thing. for me it's an alert from my body to take a 2 days brake to rest my legs. However, if you feel this even if you didn't put your boots since a while, go see a bootfitter and he'll get you fixed up.

I made the switch from full tilt to the spk's this year. It seems that if your foot doesn't fit full tilts perfectly or at least pretty good then they will be horrible. My experience with my classics is very similar to yours with the constant shin bang. As far as calf pain, I usually get it when I apply uneven pressure in my boot like if I pull my booster straps too tight. Try and even out the pressure in the boot but most importantly go to a boot fitter. They can fix most or all of your problems. Good luck and I hope this helped.

thanks, i might have to check out a boot fitter soon. The pain isnt there after a week off of riding, but one little slip up and its right back. I guess either im not ment for fulltilts, or I need them adjusted

Just try arch supports for two weeks. Put them in your shoes, work boots any footwear you use on a daily basis. Please just fucking try it, it's only $10 dr scholls arch supports if works great if not it's only $10

I already have heat molded arch support, as well as heat molded liners

If your boots don't fit you extremely well then yeah they can definitely cause shin bang. Did you go to a bootfitter? If not, you should. If your boots really are the right size for you it would help to get them heat moulded and get custom footbeds, but I think that is going to help mostly with feet, not so much shins. I would suggest posting a thread in Epicski's 'Ask the boot guys' forum. They'll probably know more about this than NS does.

stretch and warm up a lot before putting them on. I had same issue and actually it was gone once I warmed up. rub the area and just do as much stretches as you can. hope this helps
