Anyone have a good cure for this? Ive tried everything from the way i buckle my boots to custom footbeds (not really a fix, just betters the stance). Other then some sort of gel tounge for the liner, i dunno how to solve it. If i even land a little awkard off a jump, i get a nice bruise right in the middle of my ankles which hurts like a bitch and takes 3 days just to go down

And yes the boots are the proper size and im buckeliing them properly, i just need suggestions, cause im skiing in pain

Dude, put toilet paper or kleenex in your boots. Ive had to resort to pantyliners and other feminine hygine products, and the all work wonders.

It happens from falling in the backseat, I just try to take it easy for a while if i do.

they make velcro straps that attach to the boot, so you can tighten up the lip extra tight, those work pretty good.

yeah, was just gonna say try a booster strap, its elastic instead of just tight, might make your boot tongue less harsh.

at the shop i work at we have these things called shin protectors or something like that and they are these like 8 inch long foam ovals that you put under boot tongues and from what i've heard they work pretty good. they look like they would be pretty easy to make on your own. just some thin (1/8 inch) foam rubber and cut a big oval that covers the whole front of your shin in your boot. problem solved.

sounds like you need the voodoo foot doctor

i stopped landing backseat and the pain went away, but....if your rub a ski pole up and down your leg every day for a while itll take care of it...it hurts like a bitch for a while but eventually makes your shins be able to w/stand a whole lot more.

well to keep it real I started being a Poser Poser. I dress and act like a poser, but i'm not really a poser. I just pose to look like a poser posing. you know just keepin it underground

THE CURE!

Sit on your lower legs

Seriously, put your feet under your ass and stretch you shin msucle as hard as you can. Why?

Shin Bang come from the muscle on the shin separating from the shin bone, due to constant shock to the feet. It happens to marathon runners too! The way to fix it (besides not landing/skiing backseat, and have a custom liner in your boot) is to simply stretch the muscle back onto the shin. Sitting with you lower legs under you, and even leaning back while you're doing it will stretch the shin muscle back onto the bone. It helps. I wouldn't suggest putting anything in your boot cuz that'll screw up the fit of your boot, the best thing to do is make sure your boots fight tightly and right, and then if you do get it, stretch you shins...

If you're getting ankle irritation from just skiing, then your boot doesn't fit right. Go to boot fitting experts who know how to custom boot fit.

Oh and...thank your girlfriend for the head last night

One thing you should try, which you might already have, is Booster Straps. Take off the crappy straps that Salomon puts on their boots and put those on. Theyre pretty slick.

Also, you can get these gel type shin insert type things. I think theyre made by InstaPrint but Im not sure. Anyways, I have tried them, just seen a few pairs floating around. Can tell you if they are any good or not, but worth a shot.
