Pretty hectic week so far..absolutely exhausted, skiing way more than I should be..At this point my shins are shot! but I still wanna ski more and more...what are some remedies to making my legs feel just a little bit better?

-pain killers (obviously)

but what else? soaking in a hot tub maybe?

feedback appreciated :)

Heat and ice, alternate in 30 min cycles as much as you can. Fix the problem too - either work on your boots ar take it easier when you ski, and avoid hard impacts and backseat landings.

get booster straps and put them around the inside shell or liners of your boot. i suffered from shin bang for years and this cured it completly.

voodo's dont have a powerstrap..its a large cuff from thr top buckle..new design that prolly faled

Get yourself a booster then, having some sort of power strap is a necessity for an advanced skier.

no such thing (: but yes like Ginko said cycles of heat and ice. but absolutely do not try any of the icy hot products (patch, lotion, spray, ect.) they are awful and for me are the worst thing i have ever tried for pain

do what ginko said, by alternating temperatures.

it also helps SIGNIFICANTLY to rub out the calcium thats built up ontop of your shins. If you rub youre fingers over your shins itll feel bump, because of all the calcium built up, trying to protect your legs. Thats the painful part, and you need to rub that out

after using hot or cold just press your fingers onto your shin and rub down and out, all the calcium. i guarantee it will help significantly, but it might not feel very good haha

Eat a lot of protein. Shin bang is shin splints. its micro tears in the muscle. Ice and heat it. and walk on your toes to build the muscle. good luck.

Ice 20 mins

Hot 30 mins

Repeat this along with Advil every 4 hours.

Sometimes the best way to enjoy skiing is just to take one day off and do this. Then you will be good for awhile for the next few days and can go hard.

actually walking on your heels is a better idea. There's a small muscle in front of your shins called the anterior compartment and walking on your shins will use that muscle more directly. You can balance out the exercise by walking on your toes, which works your calves.

I have voodoo's too they are the worst boots for shinbang! Mine fit perfectly and I still get horrible shinbang. I bought booster straps and they help a bit... But I'm going to get new boots next year.
