Shaun White wins Euro X slope

Mark's rails were more difficult. Half the kids at my hill can do the front boards and stuff that White was doing.

you guys are so stupid. Look at his jumps compared to the others. Its just like bobby vs tom. Shaun White is the shit at snowboarding wither you like it or not. So stop complaining about it and enjoy it. There might not ever be another snowboarder like him.

Its funny how judges say rails and jumps give both 50/50 score. When mcmorris did so much better on rails, it didnt afect on score almost at all. X games is shit.

only thing that upset me about this run was the fact that he didn't hit the cannon rail, he just threw a 3 off the side, that was lame

i saw it on facebook, i thought it was a picture of the pipe podium but mark and eric are in it so i was like wtf? shaun won slope too?? mark was smoother and did better with the rails

This really. They need to get of his dick. That jumps were ugly and the jibs (and by jibs I mean boxes) are the worst I´ve seen in a comp. I don´t even think he should have qualified

I am not saying he is not the best, he is, however I think his score is blatantly too high regardless.

the skiers have more consistent smoother runs, and they score consistently lower. I know the two disciplines are different, but there should be numerical consistency in judging.

his jumps were good but his rails were absolutely terrible. Every snowboarder i know can boardslide a down box.

his doubles where good no doubt but i mean on the rail section he skipped the first rail to do a sketchy 5 then did a board-slide on the down box and on the final rail he does a 1 in 5050 which he barely even locks in to, those are some pretty basic tricks.

Jumps were decent. His rails were awful tho. He skipped the polejam/cannon thing and on the last rail he just did a lipslide.

yeah when he just 50/50 the last rail I chuckled....was like this is x-games material? Other than that though his jump section was legit, but like many others stated his rail game was fucking TRASH

I'm not an expert on snowboarding but in my opinion that run wasn't cool at all. A kid I know who started snowboarding this january can do 2 of the 3 rail tricks shaun did. Mark McMorris deserved the win.

He definitely had an edge on McMorris for the jumps, but by 7 points? no way. plus that assumes that they had equal rails and they were nowhere close. McMorris's rails were better than whites rails more than Whites jumps were better than McMorris's jumps. I give the win to McMorris.

lol'd, his jib part was a joke. but judges dont care. he's shawn white. he has to win anyway.

i wouldnt be surprised if espn and xgames have a deal he wins every comp no matter how good the run was. its said theres this fag equivalent in skiing - bobby brown : (

Agree, except the comment on bobby brown. His rails were wayyyyy above what shawn White's run contained. Although bobby "seems" to be more of a jump skier, He's also a fairly killer rail skier, just not on the same level in competitions as most of the other guys in X/dew tour. Chooses to do consistent "competition" style rail maneuvers that you can hit like 9/10 times rather than the more technical stuff you see Tom, Alex B, Andreas, and Woodsy do, and need to be rewarded more with. Their rail game in comps is on Banger park edit status.

Holy hell that was terrible.

Rails were shit, he did a sketchy spin instead of hitting the pole jam.

Basic rail tricks on down sections.

Not to mention the fact that he looked like someone flicked a person in the air when he was spinning. It looks like he just wound up and span, hoping he'd land.

I hate Shaun White.

I hate X-Games.

is it just me or are skiers better... this exact run would not have been on the podium if he were a skier

pssshhh BIG FUCKING DEAL. Riding switch on a snowboard is not difficult and hardly adds technicality.

ok fair enough, don't know snowboarding well enough to notice that - but still. sw 2 on first hit, skipped a rail feature, front board on down box (equivalent to a regular skier slide in my books) and a sloppy 1 on the last feature... far from pro rail tricks. jumps were average for a pro, nothing spectacular - sw dub 10, and two dub 12s all with pretty much the same grab. far less display of skill than bobby or tom.

it was awful. the rail stuff was on the level of 15 yr old usasa competition status and the jumps looked just like a lot of ski dudes (not hating on all skiers, some of them do it right). just ripped it off the take off, grabbed onto his boot and doubled, zero style, zero focus on properness. i hate it and i hate that it makes the public think thats what it means to be the best snowboarder. also that it makes anyone who wants to try and compete against him do runs like him since the judges obviously dont reward style and rails the way they should be. that competition might as well have been a 3 jump aerials event.

I know you all want to feel cool by hating on Shaun White, but your arguments are retarded.

So he skipped the little cannon rail....so did 99% of the other snowboarders, including 2nd and 3rd place, along with 99% of the skiers, because it was a stupid, useless feature.

It was a back lip onto that box, not a front board. There's a difference.

His jumps were CLEARLY better. He stomped every one clean, and overall went bigger than the other competitors. And I seem to remember last month, when Shaun touched his pinky finger on the pipe, you were all bawling your eyes out because he won. Yet....McMorris had a huge hand drag in his run, and you all seem to magically ignore that. Even trying to claim that he should have one. And no, his grabs weren't all tindy. In fact, every one of his grabs WAS between the bindings.

I get it, you children are jealous that skiing doesn't have a public figure like snowboarding does, and snowboarding still gets the "cool factor" that skiing doesn't. But your insistent crying and whining about Shaun is not only fucking annoying, it's making you look retarded.

Skipped the worst feature ever, I am glad he and others dodged it, it was a back lip on the down box so not quite the same as a regular ski slide and on the jumps it was switch, switch, regular and he threw a front and back dub 12. You clearly just don't know anything about snowboarding, those are more than "average jumps for a pro" you're an idiot. He shows just as much skill as Bobby or Tom, you just know skiing, Shawn is so silky smooth you think everything is so damn easy.
