Shape of space & 4D?

i got stuck doing a math project on the shape of space, and i was wondering if any of you understand 4D. me and the people that are working on it either think (from our reaserch), that its a shape with one side, but still 3d (like the klien bottle), or that it is a shape that has length, width, height, and direction.

you can choose any part of the bottle, and follow it and it will go through the inside, and eventually come out to the outside, and keeps doing that.

id actually really like to know the answer as well... one day in a bookstore i picked up a copy of a stephen hawking book to see what he was doin these days and he was talkin about 6th and 7th dimensions. what the hell is that, is it like tangible? it the 4th dimension tangible or is it some measure we cannot see like time?

i know about a few of the latter dimensions... including the 4th,,, message me and if find the time i'll give you whatever info i can offer

we were also thinking it could be time, and when time gets bigger, the shape (in this case the universe) expands. this would explain those things that it looks like a grid, but with a parabolic curve down in all directions. as more time goes on, the thing gets deeper or wider, and it will keep going forever. i found a picture of this before witht he axis labeled, but i cant find it right now.

yeah well that's what a klein bottle looks like to simplify things, but really, its more like..

klein_bottle.png

well we can't explain how this occurs because we're only in 3d right now. but its like, the neck of the bottle loops around to connect with the other end, but it passed INSIDE the bottle WITHOUT breaking the surface. it's very messed up, and it similar to the mobius strip but just more complex.

and it's definately in the 4th dimension.

let me try and explain

picture a 1d object (a point) trying to break inside something that's in the 2nd dimension (a circle, for example). it can't right? i mean, it has to break the surface. its like, try to take a penny and slide it inside a piece of yarn that's wound into a circle. you can't, because you'd have to break thru the yarn to get in it.

so what now? the 1d object (point) is moved into the 3RD dimension and allows the 'penny' to lift and then go inside the circle. so there's always a connection between two dimensions and the one in between them.

like in that example, we combined the 1st and 3rd break into the second.

now what scientists predict is that there's some sort of connection between the 2nd and 4th which give us all these heavenly bodies that are spherical and whatnot. i mean, its no coindicence, and there's been some speculation about the klein bottle and this and that.

sorry i'm not better at explaining things, it's difficult to type, but i read alot, this shit is so fascinating

damnit i fucked that one up, a point isn't in the first dimension, it's in the 0th.

because ..

1 dimenion = L

2 dimensions = LxW

3 dimensions = LxWxH

fuck i can't get my thoughts straight. it's really interesting stuff though. my bad guys..

ive looked into those too, but what exactly is it? one website i went to said it was a cube, but it can be shifted, but stillr emain one shape. it also said that it could be a cube with a smaller cube inside it, except it makes a kind of hole through it (like a square donut if that makes any sense).

so what are the 5th, 6th, and 7th dimensions? i heard scientist have discoverd like 9 as of know... ne one know the rest?

ehh... good question. but how about this? i read that scientists theorized that there were approximately 20 dimensions present in the Big Bang. I donno how they got this figure, but jesus christ, what they hell could they be?

really. all this confuses me so much. i have no information, so i dont see how any of it could happen.

does any1 no the name of the song that goes WHOOHO! dunananna WHOOHO!skierdude11

please... that is not a question... it is a quote. i know the song. and no, most of you have it wrong anyway.

theoreticaly space is infinite there for it has no shape. the fourth dimension is time wich is a concept arrived at by man and there for can not be proven

There are equation in econ of seen involving multiple dimensions. The best explanation I have heard of 4 dimensions is temperature distibution over a cube. 4 variables, temperature, X,Y,Z. Add in wind you've got a 5th, etc

The smart man does not know everything, rather the smart man admits when he knows nothing.

You need a theory for something to be theoretical, and you can't be a moron and have a theory.

there has to be a shape of space though, it cant be infinite. if it was then it would keep going on and on for eternity, but it would have to loop. theres just no way its everything and infinite...
