Yeah sounds great. You need to contact a few local buissnesses like H.H or a few other ski shops that will help out. Shops like that love a free way to advertise and ski movie premeires are the best way to do it. Make sure they donate a few things that will constitute as door prizes. If you let them hang a banner or even let them have their own tent(which is a good idea) they should be happy to give a helping hand. The more local shops or people you have to help out and donate the better. Also make sure you get the word out on the street. using flyers or the local paper. Thats the biggest key! To let everyone know where and when this is going to happen. The more people the bigger and better the event wil be. Another neat thing to do is have the skiers who are in the movie(if any show up) talk a little about the film or introduce the film. Otherwise they end up sitting around not doing much which isn't why they are there in the first place. They want to promote themselves, skiing, and the film, so let them. At the end of the film you should have a time to let the pros sign posters or anything else people throw at them. Maybe even have a party at the nearest local bar after the movie as part of the whole event. Food + Beer+ Pros+ lots of hyped people usually brings about a good time . Talk to the nearest Bar about the idea, I'm sure they would love the buissness. Thats about it. If you have any questions throw me(Laird Robertson) an email at skifreak9915@hotmail.com.
I'm planning on comming back out to Bozeman to live for the winter around october so maybe if you need any more help or advise we could get together.
The past 2 years I've helped out with Warren Miller Films and Freeskier(Glen Plakes Downhome tour) come to Buffalo NY.
Later, Good Luck!
