Shane, You Will be Missed.

Shane was the biggest insparation in my life. When I was younger no one belived in me, but Shane did. He would always says for me to keep my head up and that things would get better. with out having Shane in my life I would not be as strong of person as I am today. Shane you are still THE MAN> We will all miss you. Shred the endless pow up there for us.

R.I.P. Shane.

Wow this is horrible news. I can't believe i grew up watching this guy do this stuff and now he passed away. He seemed like a real great guy/

If Shane's family are reading this, or if anybody who knows them personally is, please pass on everybody's condolences, and let them know that people all over the world are mourning him and sending them all our love.

To quote another post, I feel sick to my stomach. I guess I felt more connected to you SHane because you were so prolific in ski media, but also because you had sucha zany sense of humor that I could connect too. I respected your risk-taking because I though that it was well planned and pre-meditated. I am curious of the details of this accident, even though they are insignificant. Good thoughts to your family. I'm still in denial. RIP mcschlonkey

I don't even know what to say. He was always a hero of mine and I was fortunate enough to meet him twice in the past few years. Whoah. I'm just physically shocked. RIP McConkey, you were an inspiration to big mountain guys everywhere.

This is horrible...he's in a better place now though. He'll just be able to leap off any cliff he wants up there without worrying.

I hope you're hucking cliffs in whatever afterlife there is.

My thoughts go out to his wife and child, as well as his friends and other loved ones.

Just a couple pics to remember him by:

For as long as i can remember, I always said that if i could ski with just one person at some point in my life it would have been shane mcconkey.

He was definitly one of the reasons I do what I do. When I first started skiing he was one of the first pros that I could recognize in the sport. Rest In Peace Shane you'll be missed.

noo this cant be happening. shane is the man and one of my favorite skiers. There will never be a better movie then his. "little late for the first chair"

same, i feel sick to my stomach about it all. but at least i know he's in a better place now.

i dont know what it was about him that made him one of my favorite skiers, he just had that sort of likeability that made him so much fun to watch. +++vibes to all the fam and friends.

Shane, you'll be missed.

RIP shane. the thought of never seeing another hilarious ski seg from you is devastating.

Theres something about Mcconkey was the first ski movie I ever saw and is still one of my favorites. You'll be missed but I know your shredding some sick pow right now and hucking some HUGE cliffs.

RIP Man
