SFB vs Shreditor 102. Worth the extra money?

Just as the title says, I'm curious about real differences from those who have skied them. From all of the reading I've done, they seem very similar and both cater to the style of ski I'm looking for. Something I can have a ton of fun with all over the mountain, popping off of everything I can see. I can get the shreditor 102 for 330 new, and I can find a set of bacons for over 400. Is it worth it to get the bacons?

as far as popping off of everything you can see, both of these skis are incredible. i have been on bacons for 4 years at this point (started with the white/green topsheet, and upgraded to last year's version when i broke my tails doing too many unsuccessful nollie flips). the shreditor 102 is the closest i've come to the feeling i had when i first clicked into my bacons (which was pretty life changing). i can also say that i've never really liked k2's options in the bacon-width range, and the shreditor was the first to change my opinion.

all of that being said, i'm concerned that the shreditor wouldn't be as much fun in the pow (i tried them out during spring VT conditions). the bacons have been so versatile, for me, that i brought them with me to japan - and when things got deep & i decided to rent some "pow" skis, i wound up going back to my bacons because they are just so much more fun. the SFB's are also my everyday ski on the east coast, so it's safe to say i'm confident on them in ANY terrain at this point

if you think you'd take these skis out on a pow day, in addition to normal days, i'd say go for the bacon. but the shreditor 102 is the closest i've come to having as much fun as i do on my SFB's, which is a considerable amount of fun.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm out here on the west coast and I've got my pettitors for the deeper pow days, so I would be considering the sfb or shreditor for more of an inbounds/resort day ski. Something to go off trail, occasionally shred groomers, and hit really anything that's available. Was the difference in underfoot width between the two that noticeable? What was the biggest difference that you noticed?

correct me if im wrong but from reading reviews of the new sfb, its much stiffer and poppier thaan the older versions. which makes them less of a direct comparison, the shreditor is soft, buttery where as the new bacon isnt? or not as much...

You're right, they are. I should have clarified but I am looking at the previous version.

Check the reviews system. I know Twig has done to relatively in-depth reviews on both, they'll give a really good insight into the 2 skis.

Oh, thank you. I'm pretty new to ns, didn't realize there was a reviews page.

yeah, twig's reviews are pretty on point. i didn't feel much of a difference with the different waist widths. matter of fact, there wasn't THAT much of a difference at all edge to edge. keep in mind i think i'm partial to the older bacon, the newer ones ARE stiffer - although noticeably lighter. so if you're looking to get a bit more playful, shreditor may be the way to go. i'm also big on pollard's art, but that petitor topsheet...

Thanks for the links! Helped a lot. After everything I've read, I decided to go with the SFB. Found a site that had two brand new sets left with a 10% off coupon. Done and done
