Sfb vs Opus

I'm 5'8, 150 lbs.I want some skis to use in france (les contamines). I may also use this ski when we get a few inches of fresh in the pyrenees. I ski in bounds, sidecountry. Not a very experienced powder skier. I allready have park skis for park, groomers. These skis will be for when there's either some fresh powder, some lumpy tracked (anything that's soft)...

How much better is the bacon on groomed?

Which is better in lumpy/tracked powder?

Basically having oly ridden 96mm scott dozers I'm having trouble choosing.

Also can you sugest some bindings? I'm thinking sth drivers 14 or fks 14.

Cheers.

Have you considered te sick days? I skied the sfb and the sick day 95 and 105 today and both the sick days are much better. The sfb were really heavy. They had a goo flex and were stable both carving and playing around on. The sick days were way more playfull though partly from being much lighter. I would go sick day over sfb any day. I did not try out the opus though.

Binding wise either will be good, I would choose sth for better durability but either will work.

Yeah I just had a look at them. The 110 looks nice but do they have much of a tail? Although I'm not EP I still hope to do some spins and jibbing in the fluffy stuff.

They felt fine switch the tail never had any catching issues that I found. They were much more buttery then the sfb but still more stable.

Ok, I'm going with sth 14. Now I just have to decide which width of ski I want. Between sick day 110 and sfb I feel the sfb would land switch better and be more capable of handling park. Does anyone know if the opus is skiable on groomers I will have to ski groomers to get to different lifts.

I would disagree about your ski selection. The sick day felt much more like a park ski. It had a softer flex in the tip and tail and was so much lighter. The sfb was so heavy it just felt pretty dead in compassion. The sick day was much more lucky and you will have no problems with the tail. Try so e out though and see what you think before you buy any.

Do you think? Where did you ski it?

When i tried it yesterday i found it rode switch way better overall then the sfb. The sfb was just heavy and pretty dead feeling. The sickday 110 felt much more like a park ski too me. Im interested to see other opions as we are selling them this season. This was the first year I rode the sfb and was not impressed but i really liked by sick days i tried.

Tom knows his shit. My 2010 bacons are heavy and dead feeling. Not exactly a jibbing around ski for me. Good for less than 8 inches of fresh. I now use them as my summer touring ski because they just dont cut it for me.

I know the new sfbs are different but id stay away.

Any thoughts on the shreditor 112? I'm torn between sick days, shreditors and opus. The sick day looks like an awesome all mountain ski. Shreditor is my favourite candidate looks like it woukd slay park as well as groomers and a bit of pow. Opus is looking sick for pow. How deep do you think the 110-112mm waist skis can go in pow?
