SFB vs Edollo vs Rustler 9

I recently wrecked my Sir Francis Bacons (184cm) and was able to warranty them. Through the retailer, I now have 3 options and am not sure which is best. I replaced the Bacons with a cheap set of m-free 108's (182cm), which I like, and am considering how to best complete the quiver. I'll probably be living on the east coast next year - my initial thought was the k2 reckoner 102 as a park / hardpack ski, but unfortunately the retailer doesn't have anything in the 180's or 190's. I was considering these 3 options to complete the quiver:

New pair of Bacons (190cm): I liked my first pair a lot, but those were 184cm. I am considering making the SFB a pow / park setup, and using the m-free for all other days. I'm just over 6ft, ~190lbs. Would the SFB at 190 be too much ski for park laps? I'm only really spinning 180's and 360's right now, but like working on grabs and would probably want to get back on boxes / rails.

Armada Edollo (180cm): I would make this a park plus slushy spring laps ski (when it's really just the park and some groomers), and use the M Free for everything else. I really liked the SFB for nose butters / presses, so I think this is interesting. But definitely a beginner level park skier.

Blizzard Rustler 9 (188cm): I'm likely going to be moving from Jackson Hole to the East Coast next year, so the m free might be too wide for a daily driver. Is the Rustler capable in the park?

I figure that on the east coast, I will lap mountains like Stratton a bit, but will want to spend more time in the park (especially when the snow is rough). On all western trips (or if I move out west) I'm definitely more of a "few park laps a day, but mostly looking for soft snow" kind of skier. Thanks a ton in advance!

Also realize there’s resources on best info to provide for these discussions, so adding below:

LOCATION: Will live on east coast, but would expect 1/3 of skiing or so out west. I’ll say 50/50 east and west (west being mammoth and palisades)

HEIGHT/AGE/WEIGHT: just over 6ft, 190, mid 20’s.

ABILITY LEVEL: type III+, but in the park more beginner. Ski fairly aggressively but enjoy learning switch and buttering. A lot of popping off side hits.

WHAT KIND OF SKI DO YOU WANT: this is super crappy, but “something to compliment the m free 108” is unfortunately the most accurate descriptor I can think of.

I know one thing and that none of my IFSA homies that ride rustlers ride them in the park. One of my friends tried riding park on his rustler 10s and said they just fight your motion a lot of the time. The freeride skis are more designed to just charge in straighter paths and generally aren’t going to be good for park performance and maneuverability.

Of the three skis you listed, I think the Edollo definitely sounds like the best complement to your MFree 108. The SFB would be filling basically the exact same niche as the MFree, being only 1mm narrower, and the Rustler isn't really designed with park and freestyle skiing in mind.

I would definitely go with the edollo. That will give you the greatest complement to the mfree. Another ski to consider as well if the shop has it available is the stranger. But if they don’t, definitely go with the edollo. The blackops holy shred is an ok ski. I feel it’s kinda a very lost ski, like it doesn’t know if it’s a park ski or a twin tip groomer ski. The edollo is wayy more fun

That’s actually a really good description of the Holyshred. I finally skied it a couple weeks ago and while I didn’t hate it, I was kinda confused by it. I had heard from a lot of people that it was really strong and pretty stiff but it did not feel that way to me. It did ok on groomers and ok in the air but it didn’t do anything really well for me.

Somewhat unrelated to this thread, but fuck, am I ever glad Rossi is ditching the Gamer and Holyshred names.

Thanks, great beta on the Rustler. I also just found out the Holyshred is available in 182 and 192 - unsure how those compare

I have the 182, its a great east coast ski. They will be better in the park than the rustler, but they still have great edge hold on icy surfaces.
