i wanted to sew a patch onto my ski jacket on the arm and i was wondering if any1 has done this or for any tips on how to do this. i was guessing an iron-on patch would work best, correct?

any tips appreciated. thanks much

nah his woman will probably be cooking him dinner or doing his laundry take it to a professional male tailor cause we all know women can do it men can jsut do it better

im no expert but i expect it might use some water proofing spray or sumthing on it too .like i said tho i aint an expert on this or nothing

i dont know how the whole iron on patch would work. when i tried that the patch slowly peeled off and i jsut ended up sewing it and it held fine.

i would say sew it back together or sew a patch on to it and do it from the inside not the outside.

so you mean get like a blank patch on the inside of jacket and sew it through the patch on outside, so theres 2 patches sandwiching the jacket material. i was worried about sewing holes through my jacket is the only thing

well is it a rip on the jacket or more of a hole. if it is a whole put a patch on the inside and just sew it to jacket you dont need to sandwich it . you could though i just dont no how clean it would look but either way would work.

but if it is just a rip you should be able to pull the two seems together and do a tight stich with a sewing machine and then jsut put some good old duck tape on the inside to keep moisture out.

if all else fails do a how to search on youtube never fails!

haha no its neither. i just want to put a patch of a flag on my jacket, like a design patch. the jacket is just fine, i was just gonna put it on my arm

HAHA oh i thouhgt you had a huge rip or something this whole time haha my bad.

well shit then just use a sewing machine and sew it on wont hurt a thing. but iron on's do tend to peel off.

good luck though!

i would really recommend to take it to a clothing cleaners, the one by my house repairs stuff, and if they cant waterproof it for you, then you can prolly buy some waterproofing spray or gel.
