i just bought turf for my backyard setup. i have a hill in my yard and i put the turf on it and set up the ramp and the rail. no matter how much i water it, i cant get enough speed. suggestions??? +k

you need something sturdy to put the turf on. If you just set it on the grass there is nothing solid for the skis to push off against and hold speed. Put a piece of plywood underneath the turf.

put a shit ton of dish soap on the turf and wet down the turf a bunch with water. It will create suds on the turf and then it should be nice and fast.

What I did to gain more speed : I made push-off grips on my drop-in tower, i experimented with different soaps and now i just use a shitload of brown/green soap, and i softened the transfer from down to flat to jump, now my jump is allmost flat and the horizontal part is longer...,
so basically, smooth transfers and a ton of soap n water

make sure the jump to the rail isn't too steep, also sometimes the turf strands have a grain to then and they tend to want to get pushed down in one direction. make sure that the turf strands wants to be pushed down hill. Good luck

You have to use dish soap on the turf along with water usually.
and if the hills not steep enough you might have to build a drop inbut you could probably just get away with an old latte or something with some turf on itor if you're really handy a slingshot out of an old lawn mower engine!
