i would just like to say that the history taught in public high schools across the country is so skewed and misleading that it leads to large gaps of the history books not being included, and that the only way to find true unbias history is to visit said historic area. the perception of slavery in the south is also very bias, as the lynch em up, buy em, work em, kill em idealogy is incorrect. for those younger kids who dont appreciate history, slave owners actually owned the slave, as in you owning a lawn mower, now you purchase and use the slave to do field work and house work, you wouldnt kill said slave just for the fuck of it, just as you wouldnt light your lawn mower on fire because you didnt like the paint tone. thats a loss of investment and profit, thus the worst slavery is after slavery was abolished and there was share cropping and tenant farming, as they didn't own the black men any more so they could treat them worse with less consequence to their wallet.
i do agree that slavery is wrong and should not be celebrated, but i must commend those who have helped to further the american society/economy and public through their slave works. A month dedicated to celebrating confederacy is unnecessary and unconstitutional i believe, yet im not posotive. well im tired as fuck so peace out ns.
