Seriously. How many of you ski at Castle?

I had over been there til this season and it's literally blown my mind apart almost everytime. I hit a 2 days last week when they had over 20cm over night and the second day I went had 40 in the previous 48. Not to mention the windsift makes anything they get seem twice as deep on the majority of the bowls and chutes. All of this when snowforecast.com was calling for less than 4 cm. I may have found my new hill. It is so chill.

Sorry, all that to say, if any of you do regularly make trips down, let me know, I'd love to pitch for gas on a day trip. Not to mention ski with other people.

I've always wanted to go. I've never been.

I'll head out for a day during the weekend if someone knows what they're doing.

Or you could all hit the storm with me on Monday. Planning on skipping school. The storm systems down there are hard to predict accurately but from my chats with the Patrol and my own experience this year, its never less than what they forecast and generally more. Right now they (snowforecast.com) are forecasting almost a foot from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Last time I went we hit hip deep on a day that was forecasting 4 cm overnight. It was epic.

Sorry, that had some double posts in it. My bad. To clarify, it was hip deep in the lee of the trees. Almost that deep everywhere else. Don't want to sound like the guy who's fish just keeps getting bigger with every telling.

I'd be keen to check the place out on Tuesday potentially, sounds like crazy winds there tonight. Probably can get fresh tracks some places easy day after storm with wind filling everything in real nice!

Looks like Sunday's gonna be the best. A ton of snow on the way. It's worth it, plus if any of you are students it's 60 bucks. Anybody want to go?

I've always wanted to check that place out. I could probably do Sunday or Monday but I'm not sure which yet (my dad wants to go to Louise with me one of those days too). Put me down as a solid 'maybe' & let me know what the plans are.

How accurate is that snowforecast.com site you mentioned? I've never been to it until today, but it seems to be predicting an uncharacteristically large amount of snow for Lake Louise (15-25" by Tuesday).

Tempted to head out Sunday if its going to be snowy. I'll fill up the car if people don't mind pitching gas

Louise is puking, just did a quick tour today stayed in the trees watched a bunch of naturals bombing off cliffs. Mad whiteroom. Heading to the hill here tomorrow supposed to snow another 15-20 tonight can't not go when I live here and have a pass hahaha. Castle maybe Tuesday when I actually have enough money to go lol.

sure depending on what condishys are like. Extreme danger in the pass right now and everything getting bumped up to high as well. Sure we could find some goods though!

Well, all my plans have changed with this storm system coming in. Geez. Sunshine got 39 last night? KH had about the same. Woah. I am leaving tonight with a buddy to get out to Golden. Sorry folks, another time. Also, for some reason all the cams at Castle look like it's raining all the time. I have no idea why but I don't think they've seen a drop this year yet. So, don't let it deceive you. Get out there and have some fun this weekend though guys! Could be the storm of the year.

Yea, really tempted to go to Golden just for the day. But gas makes me uncertain if I want to go. Unless people want to pitch in, and I leave tomorrow morning.

if anyone's driving out to sunshine/louise or anything tomorrow and wants to bring like 3/4 of us, we'll pay for your gas.

I'm off to Sunshine for the half day tomorrow (heading out tonight partying).

I don't know the hill that well. Looking for some people to meet up with

Thank you!!! Because of your post, I went to louise today. And, it was ridiculous - SO much snow. By random chance we showed up at the right time to get first tracks on paradise bowl and whitehorn chutes; it was thigh-deep in places. Best day of the year so far for sure.

Hopefully it's just as good for everyone on Sunday!!

I should mention that it warmed up at louise later in the afternoon, and the snow got a bit heavy. It needs to keep snowing overnight for it to be good tomorrow. Snow was still coming down when we left.

Also, a ski patrol guy on the chair told me that it was raining today in golden/revelstoke/fernie. Apparently louise/sunshine were the only places cold enough for snow. I'm not sure if that's true, but it might be worth checking before heading out tomorrow.

Apparently my copy/paste function has ceased to function. That was supposed to say I think engler's to rhyno's is my favorite place there. Nice stoke.

I'm heading to Castle on thurs I think to hit that storm, Or potentially just hit Fernie not sure yet. anyone headed to either place?!

I want to go to castle tomorrow. I will pitch for gas bro. Fernie isn't supposed to get as big a dump as Castle. PM if you are down.

I'll be in the parkinglot in ma purple 4 runner tonight first chair fo show. Stoked to rip some Gnar pow, Red Jacket Black pants Moment Belafontees Get at mah!

skied castle Yesterday. Good snow little wind buffed but still super fun. That red chair sure is a bitch though broke down for a couple hours here thats quite common 2. Anyways still a super fun day and skied Fernie today lots of fun.

Gonna be at Castle on the 'morrow. Should be a classy day. I'll be in a plaid yellow/black jacket and blue pants rocking ON3P and Kendama USA stickers on my helm. Hit me up if you see me!

DAMN! That was THE best day of the year, and I doubt it'll get topped. Geez. Nobody on the hill, 40cm of freshies and hip deep in the lees. Bombin trees all day!

dude you are so right, i went there for a weekend this season, no expectations, that place blows my mind, definitely going back some day

I like Castle, It's got some sweet stuff and on a pow day, the winds make it supa deep in some spots. I can't stand the chairlift speed though. It's just too fricken slow, especially on a pow day when everyone is overly stoked to shred and you got to sit and wait for that long.

Any of you guys ski KC's this year. Wondering if its filled in. A chute i'd like to get done though probably not worth it now that the hills closed haha.

castle is one of my favorite mountains but i dont get out there as much as i used to living in whis now. so unknown, everyone just passes by it for fernie. the lifts maybe slow but the snow when they get it stays for weeks and you can still constantly be finding fresh and its such a good hill layout as well
