Serious Question. friend od'd

ok so i have a friend who has a pretty bad drug problem. first it started with weed and such but then he got into a bad car accident. this accident left him with a pretty much lifelong prescriptiont o painkillers and such. since then hes on pills 24/7. hes almost killed himself and throws up constantly. the other day he od'd for the first time. weve tried intervening so many times but nothign ever works. i just dont know what to do anymore. any tips? and please dont hate theis is a really serious problem.

Wow man, i am sorry to hear that. I hope he can get better soon.

Have you tried setting up some type of system that regulates how many pills he gets per day? Might help him cut back
 
the only way i can think of is have someone else control the pills and the flow of them, that said, maybe he is just in a lot of pain and the pills in the set amount just are not working

my little bro has a friend who got into coke and crack and what not. He stopped hanging out with his old group of friends for his new druggy friends. He recently showed up at a party at our place acting like and idiot and getting all lippy with his old friends, so my brother tackled him to the ground and clapped him in the face a few times, then threw him out the front door. Some people take the wrong road and can't turn back. Luckily he's going to jail on some assault charges (he was tried as an adult). Maybe getting ass-raped will teach him a lesson.

It seems like your friend is more depressed than anything else, so kicking his ass in his crippled state may not be the best idea lol.... might want to look into getting some professional help.
 
Reminds me of house. I would talk to his parents. Who cares how awkward it is if it saves your friends life.
 
I had a friend that got hooked on opiates when we were younger. We tried everything we could to get him to quit. His parents sent him to that rehab center that Farve went to and he ended up breaking out, scoring some shit, and oding in some hotel room. RIP. good luck bro...try everything you can now because it sure will beat going to his funeral.
 
man, shit sucks. painkillers are so hard to get off.

last year, i knew this kid who had a scrip for a back problem and hed give a SWEET deal on vicodin and oxycontin. i got pretty adddicted. not as bad as your friend (i never threw up and shit), but the shit was SOOOOO hard to kick. i would be in class and just start shaking and sweating and feeling like shit. narcotics are rough man.
