its a shame, becuase they brough down our building and killed 2000 people, we went overseas and killed 110,000 iraqis and who knows how many afganys and others, aswell as give more of our rights away to the goverment. im just tired of the killing, the worlds on the right course for a peacefull elightend society, but this was a major setback that i will compare the long term effects to world war II even though the death toll is much lower the effects on peoples minds and thoughts of each other were very great....

It was a horrible event, but I really hate how it turned into something where people suddenly became patriotic and saying how great America is. We should be mourning for the people who died, not all of a sudden saying what a wonderful country we are. If it takes a huge disaster like September 11th to inspire patriotism, something is very wrong.

This is not meant to belittle what occured on the 11th of september 2001 its just to put it into context. What occurred was shocking but far more shocking things have been perpertrated by western nations. I know people will reply to this by saying the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were to save American soldier's lives but for soldiers death is a risk of war, they know they could die when they sign on. The people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki didn't sign on for anything. The same could be said for the people who died in the September 11th attack, it was a cowardly attack on innocent civilians who for the most part were no harm to anyone, but reinforcing the image of the US as a warmongering, anti-arab nation that is present in the minds of most arab terrorists is not the way to go about stopping more attacks. I don't pretend to know what should be done but i think the most obvious thing NOT to do is to kill fathers, sons, mothers and daughters and thus create an entirely new generation of terrorists.

I know that those 3 attacks were during a time of war but isn't there something in the Geneva convention that says that civilian populations are sacrosanct, even in a time of war. and what about the hundreds of thousands killed in Cambodia during the Vietnam war by US bombing. Cambodia wasn't at war with anyone and got the shit bombed out of it, a lot more than 3000 people were killed there. I don't want anyone to get the impression I don't care about what happened at the world trade centre i just think that the US can't moralize over what happened until it comes to terms with and apologizes for the crimes it has comitted in wartime AND peacetime over the years.

september 11...the pearl harbor of our time only this attack was not carried on the soldiers or military of the united states it was meant to hit us in the heart and it did. the reason they attacked civilians is because they wanted all of us dead (maybe jealousy maybe other htings against us) but it didnt only touch our lives it touched the whole country cant u guys see it doesnt matter how many more people died in one bombing or another what matters is those people all died by WAR HUNGRY AND KILL HAPPY PEOPLE of mass destruction all these deaths had no purpose no one had it coming it happened because of people that shouldnt be on this earth...thats all i haev to say please take into consideration what i haev shared
