So september 2011, i'm moving to australia, I'm going mostley for mtn biking, and i've had most of my questions answerd. anyways I was wondering, between adelaide and canberra what one has the better nightlife? This is one question noone will answer, or answer truthfully.

I've got somemore questions that i'd post up later.

THanks. I absolutly cannot wait too come to this beautifull country.

this is a little early but if anyones got a room to rent? or need planing on moving into an apartment and needs someone around that time i'm up for it.

you'd definitely be better in adelaide for the nightlife, canberra is crazily quiet most of the time. though then again canberra has the better ski resorts than south australia. hopefully this is helpful ay.

Yeah man, that deffinitly helpfull, I'm not too worried about being near the ski resorts for this trip. Honestly, i'm starting to get sick of this -40 degree wheather, and short summers. I want to go there to well party, meet some super sick people, and ride some DH, and It's hard finding out where the best is, but so far adelaide seem's like the place i want too be.

If u want heat i canberra gets freekin hot in the summer. never been to adelaide. Althoug canberra nightlife is pretty good during uni semester. Gets pretty crazy some nights and uni parties are goin constantly.
Im in Sydney so if yur in that area, look me up and we can get some beerz

^ Haha, Canberra has nothing on Adelaide for heat!! Last summer Adelaide had 2 straight weeks around 45deg celcius!!!! I'm from Adelaide, but only live here now between seasons in Falls Creek and seasons overseas, although I'm having my first summer in 5 years at the moment after a shoulder reco. Anyway, Adelaide has far better nightlife than Canberra. I go to Canberra each year after the season for the SIA trade show (yes we have one in Australia), and everyone there says it's the only time of year it cranks!! However, here in Adelaide you are at least 12 hours from snow!! Come live at Falls Creek - wicked mountain in winter, and killer mountain biking in summer if you're gonna stick around!! Holla if you want more info!!

Definitely hit up Vic (Melbourne) for nightlife and downhill. I have mates that ride a fair bit and I think a few of the resorts crank during the Summer. Canberra is pretty dead but Adelaide is ok.

I live in Adelaide and if you know where to go the nightlife isn't too bad (although got nothing on Melbourne or Sydney).

If you come down here pm me and I'll give you a few places that might be worth hitting up.

alright thanks guys, I made my first deposit of 1,200 dollers into my "Australia Trip fund" ahahaha, still deciding on where all to go, adelaide seems so far to be my choice, but Victora seems preety sick. I can not wait at all.

Or travel round a bit. It's not too hard to get around and I'm sure the Aussie NSers could help you out. I live Between Melbourne and Adelaide

thats deffinitly a thought to travel around a bit, but all in all, I'm hoping to try and find a job in an area, and accutaly live in an area. Get to know the place kind of deal, Hard to explain. But meh, I probley won't have an idea of what's gunna happen intill i'm accutaly in the country.

All I can say is Canberra night life isn't the greatest. Being so small, good bands/DJs rarely come here. But I guess otherwise its alright and mt stromlo is good mtn biking, I don't know if you have heard of stromolo but downhill world champs were held there so it must be pretty good...

to update on my journeys, I'm leaving september 12th, for sydney, i'm then getting to canberra for 2 weeks, and living with my ex-neighbour, leaving my bikes, and anything i find I don't need at his house, and finding my way to Brisbane-Gold Coast area, then making way back to canberra around november 10th. Plane tickets are booked, ETA check!

yeah you're gonna get a really bad image of australia by going to adelaide or canberra for nightlife. go to melbourne. much better, and if you get there a month or so earlier than september there's snow only 3 hours away
oh and there are sick opportunities for mountain biking within an hour of melbourne

im not into the whole mountain bike thing but melbourne's nightlife is amazing. good clubs and normally good dj's/ acts at these venue's
adelaide is a pretty sleepy town not too much going on.

Guys, I'm just going to travel around when I arrive in country, I've got a buddy in Canberra, so i'm starting my journey there, then after a few weeks i'm moving on, If anyone had any suggestions where to go from there. i'm open. Or if I pass through your city, we;ve gotta get together.

just dont get the idea that you can drive between major cities easily. australia is a BIG place. melbourne to sydney is pretty much a day's drive, to give you some idea. a lot of tourists make this mistake and think they can base themselves in sydney then drive everywhere for day trips...unfortunately it doesnt work...

not planning too many 'day trips' I'm pretty much going to adapt to my situations as it happens, but basically, my bike, and semi-importnt shit will stay at buddies house in canberra, but for traveling, and getting places, I do have aas much time as I need.

at this point my Off the cuff approach to this trip is starting to worry me haha, if anyone is gunna be (ANYWHERE) along the eastern coast shoot me a pm, NS meet-and-great. (have some drinks of course)
fuckk yeah
