Seperate Courses?

While watching the Dew Tour, I couldn't help but notice how many girls either came up short, or were forced to op out of the jumps.

With crazier and crazier tricks being thrown down, and therefore bigger and bigger jumps necessary to do them, how are women, who physically cannot get enough speed, going to continue to compete on the same course?

There is no way that mountains are going to put forth the time, money, and effort and build two separate parks. What does this mean for woman's freestyle skiing?

didn't even read it, but yes. as soon as i saw the title i knew exactly what it was going to say. i totally think girls should throw down on the same course, but if they can't then... whatever.

I mean even Simon who is legitimately a midget is pretty jacked, therefore making him heavy.

How can you even make that argument? Have you not seen dale talkington's skiing? kid's pretty damn small, and he throws down harder than 99% of full-size guys do.

what gets me is that a lot of these big competitions pay the same for women and men. Women should get like 1/10th the amount.

Wait, what? Can someone verify this? I think the women just struggled with speed cause it was dumping during their event.

what it means for women's skiing is that they will continue to do tricks nowhere near the level of men while getting paid roughly the same amount. (if I am mistaken in terms of what the purses are, please correct me.)

it was dumping for both events.
i think if it had been perfect weather/perfect course, the girls wouldn't have had a problem. But let's face it, they are not quite as good as the dudes, so they struggle with getting speed in shitty conditions

In this case, as Collin mentioned, the snow was the real issue. A few chicks were really throwing down today, Jess was doing some real ill shit, Lincoln, a sick ass Cork 5/Underflip (an out-loud what the fuck moment) and Rode 5. Obviously Keri and Ash killed it as well. The snow was super wet, it was pretty warm (temp wise, not wind wise) and so speed was a huge issue, especially for those lighter competitors. It was also really windy, which constantly was shifting from a headwind to a tailwind, plenty of guys were having speed issues as well. If it had been blue bird things would have definitely gone down way harder.

and about the OPs question, going along with what collin and duncan have said, i dont think there is any reason for a separate course.. it was just snowing like a bitch and sometimes shit happens. given good weather with ample speed, i think the girls would have done good things today.

why don't they just bring back two separate lips? fuck wide take offs for carving into a trick, keep that shit in mammoth.

for the first time I agree with you, this would be a great idea and the woman would feel a whole lot more comfortable throwing certain tricks.
on a side note I felt bad for the women in the pipe, they struggle getting amplitude as it is without it dumping on them. But yet a lot of them still killed solid runs props to them for sure.

Yeah and the wind was coming right at them. They aren't as heavy as them men to so they could not carry there speed as well.

No. The last thing we need to do is separate girls even more from the level of mens skiing.
