Sending Your College Transcript to Another College

For transfer students, it can be stressful waiting to find out if you can even transfer to a school that you want to go to the following year. Right now I'm waiting for my transcript to sent to a school I hopefully will attend next year.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a transfer to be sent from one college to another?

I think most schools wait until May, when both semester grades are out and students apply for transfers. I know it's in a while man, best of luck and stay patient!

i'm surprised you're even in college if you had to ask on here instead of just calling the transfer school and asking

What's wrong with your school? If it's really that bad it's all good but if this is your first year give it sometime. School started like 3 months ago.

Maybe none of that applies.

Also I'd recommend printing any documentation out on scented paper so that the other school remembers your name.

No offence to OP here but it really doesn't take much to get by in college. Internet search engines are the primary resource for most students. Online forums are a pretty close second. I dont think its unreasonable to ask NS for advice even though the school is probably the best resource. In my experience, I tried to transfer last year and I was redirected four or five times before hung up on or ignored. I didn't end up transferring.

My advice, talk to an academic advisor at your school. They might know who you want to talk to. Part of your tuition pays their salaries so use them.

Good luck, expecting to know where you want to be and what you want to do in Grade 12 is a complete shot in the dark.

I'm transferring because the school I want to go to has the 9th ranked psychology program in the U.S. It's not that my school is bad, I just want the best possible education.

you are a fucking retard, unless you are in a graduate program this "9th ranked psychology program" does not mean a flying fucking thing ok. undergraduate programs such as history, econ, or bio are NOT individually ranked at the undergraduate level. This "9th ranked psychology program" is in reference to the graduate program, graduate programs are ranked but not undergraduate programs.

Its not really a matter of how long it takes them to send the transcript but rather how long it takes them to evaluate applications, and how many applications they have at this time of year. Not to mention that unless someone has already transferred the courses you're trying to transfer, or your school has a transfer agreement with the school you want to attend, they have to determine if the courses you've taken have equivalents at their school. If they don't you'll have to send them a huge amount of information on the courses you've taken in order to get transfer credit. Transfers suck honestly, they're a huge pain in the ass for everyone involved and they can set you back quite a few credits if the receiving institution isn't co-operative. Don't do it unless you're getting a shitty education at the school you're at now. Nobody cares where you did your undergrad.
