I'm shooting right now all my actual client production with my HVX (well almost all of it) and using my 7D for my own personal, run and gun edits, and I'll tell you- an HVX will always be grainier than a DSLR, at least in my experience. It has a reputation as a grainy camera, but that's not always the worst thing. I'd liken it to a nice film grain more than any other 3 chip, that's for sure.
