Revenge is not the answer to terrorism, as the revenge they will reap will be twice as bad. It would be a never ending cycle. The result would be everyone dying..

No we aren't technically at war. We are technically fighting but we haven't "declared" war so we are "technically in a "police action".
 
I'm sorry, but that is a completely false assessment. We are in an officially declared war against terrorism. Just because we are not fighting against an actual country doesn't mean we are not at war.
 
YES IT DOES, my god. You can't "declare" war on terrorism. Congress doesn't make a contract of war with terrorism. There are no rules in a fight like this. Therefore it is not a war and you just made an ass of yourself by trying to correct me.

My nightly rant and my last post in this thread.. Read Quinny's rules on rants, they're great. Agree or disagree, we're all in the same boat and we need to stop:

when you see someone driving a Hummer, that's basically why we're there. Overconsumption.. Our economy needs it though.. Automotive, steel, groceries, other industry. we all want it and have become used to it. Now, the cost of shipping is so low, keeping the price of our groceries reasonable compared to our earnings.. this is why we need it. But this is rapidly changing. Did you know that in Canada, the cost of diesel fuel is costing the shipping industry (trucking) $3billion EXTRA in just fuel costs?? where do you think that money goes?? do you think that the shipping companies pay for that? no, we pay for it.. we ALL pay for it. Terrorism ,or whatever it's called, is a result of our overconsumption. we want it, we run out of it.. so we have to go to other sources to get it. they won't trade, so we fight them and take it by installing pro-western lifestyle governments. we destroy a whole town.. the guy who posted here earlier sprays a whole building with gunfire trying to get his friend out.. you had better believe that kids are pissed.. I would be. I would imagine that me or a bunch of my friends would grow up and want to kill, or make the people pay for destroying my whole town.

and until recently, we've been really the only countries that need this oil. unless things change really soon.. we're headed towards a very, very major conflict.. and for what?

you make fun of hippies.. i do too. but we've know about this overuse of UN-renewable resources for years. in the past 20 years, what do you think the result of putting however many bazillion dollars into developing renewable resources and relying on ourselves for energy?? i'd say we'd be a hell of a lot safer..
 
I could not agree with this anymore. I always say this that we need to strike a good impression on the youth. All these people we're killing now are going to be dead soon. They are teaching their children to hate. We need to change our ways and fast. Our relations with other countries are going to hell...and we need good ones.

has it ever come across your small,stupid mind that our soldiers and operatives could be wrong in taking in the wrong person. i bet 1/4 of these guys are innocent for the crimes they are being charged with. and to say they dont deserve any rights.....thats saying innocent people have no rights. how would you like it if some people stormed your house, grabbed you, accused you of something, and tortured you. think about it penis brain.

comparing what the CIA is doing to the Nazi actions of WWII is pretty damn farfetched, being as the CIA is not discrimintaing and harming people based on personal beliefs, preferences, or race. the CIA is dealing with suspected terrorists and criminals,
 
you realize psychological torture is 10 times more effiective then physical torture?

i dont have a problem with torture used to gain information during war time.

i have a problem with wars that are based on lies and governments that kill their own people to justify these wars.

hey did you check about all of the other attacks that have happened all over the world. so many other countries have experienced terrorist attacks for so much longer than the us has. imagine living in the gaza strip with attacks everyday. living in london where an attack happened not so long ago and has happened so much more frequently. and not all terrorists are foreigners just to let you know. remember oklahoma city in 1995? yea he was an american, angry at the government and taking revenge. yea granted the world trade center thing was devastating, but do you know anyone that died there? you live on the other side of the country. i know people who escaped, who's parents died and so many people who were dramatically affected. but i don't say lets kill the bastards that did this. one they are already dead. two you can't possibly find them all. three using those techniques would bring you down to their level. judging from the way you feel about them im sure you wouldn't want to do that. you can't fight a war against terrorism, because it is an idea, a terrible way to try and solve problems. it is impossible because another person will come up with another way to terrorize making it impossible to stamp it out. think before you speak. that comment just made you sound like a complete idiot.
