heyyyy, just wondering if there are any NSers at SPU? i went and checked it out and it was pretty swell, there's a chance i might go there next year. but not without a newschooler's opinion. anyone?

zing pow!

There's a nice NS scene in Seattle (not that the trolling and bullshit online would indicate it though).

The religious aspects of SPU don't agree with me. I'm sure there are nice people there, but I don't know any NSers from there. However, most of the other schools around here have someone (UW, Seattle U, UPS, PLU in my case). Just ask if you're interested in other schools and we'll do what we can.

yeah i can totally understand. i visited and i could definitely tell that the vibe there wouldn't work for everyone. but hey, i liked it, and seattle is awesome. i also checked out UW, which i really liked, but the fact that it's 35,000 kids is overwhelming, and i am almost certain that the size would make my grades suffer. i could also get scholarships to spu, but not UW, whose tuition is going up 14% for next year.

basically, i'm just curious about the skiing. i know that snoqualmie/alpental are like 50 minutes and stevens is like 1:45, right? anyhow, i'm thinking that i would be doing a lot of afternoon/night skiing at snoqualmie, and then hit up stevens on weekends/pow days. would that make sense? cause i doubt at a small private school like spu i would have much flexibility in being able to have a lot of days off for skiing.

you'd be surprised what you can pull off in terms of scheduling. as a freshman you won't get a good pick at classes but after your first year you can easily set yourself up on a Tuesday-Thursday or M-W-F class schedule. At least that has been my experience. plus you guys have a prom in the winter!

yeah, true about the scheduling. and the idea of a prom in college seems a bit retarded to me.

where do you go to school?

I know a lot of cool people who go to SPU,

that said, the price is scary, even compared to UW next year. While scholarships may be able to be found at SPU, if you lose them you had better have a trust fund.

However if you want to find out about a Scholarship for SPU that covers Tuition, Room & Board, Books and even a monthly stipend let me know. It will usually cover all 4 years too.
