Hello! First-time caller, long time listener, Josh Malczyk here, skier, snowboarder, I think like member sub-500 on NS, have probably been on here every day since the get-go so I owe this community a lot in my life in the industry and want to make sure there's an open dialogue with our new company. Ask away! It's been a crazy few months with our little crew all quitting our jobs and starting something completely new (in a global pandemic, that's fun). Twig's piece answers a lot and there will be more info on the interwebs as we tune our site, message, products, everything, we're just happy to be at the stage of talking about it and showing you all.

TL,DR: thanks for coming along, ask us anything and see you out there this season (we'll try not to make that pun very much)

Oh we're doing a zoom-inar or whatever you'd like to call it in a few hours with, tune in here!

Any chance Eric will be doing graphic on new models in the future? Just because a ski has graphics doesnt mean it ever needs to change every year. (Sorry I just like Eric's graphics too much to not see skis being made with them)

When/if new models are introduced would others be phased out to keep offerings at 3?

Just a heads-up, you're going to have a really hard time w/ SEO since your name is already in every ski/snowboard website's copy. Tried searching for you guys and nothing came up. Tried your proper name, long version of equipment, season skis, and season skis brand. Renaming your startup may be wise from a marketing / SEO standpoint !

This. Really love the idea and direction behind what you guys are doing with the cross-board approach, but name is about as vanilla as it gets. Should maybe go for more artistic, pollard/nimbus style vibes yadadaaaa mean?? With the name and graphics, y'all should really do some graphics!! would be so sick. and some videos!! fuck it why not! build a sick team, put out some really clean, flowy, surfy, snow ridin' content. that's the hot trend and with the swallowtail skis seems like a perfect fit.

Hoping that the media side of season is strong. My copy of After the Sky Falls is one of my favorite snow films, and with what seems like a very artistic team, definitely hoping for similar art

Hey guys neat new skis! Drooooling over those swallowtails.

I'm curious about what direction you plan to go with branding? Dont get me wrong, I think the black blanks are sick: pure focus on performance. A little mysterious, a little sexy. I'm with it.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for bright colors and flowery smells, like the consumer honeybee I am. But yeah, are you guys going to run some kind of artistic media or marketing concept with them? Or let the skis speak for themselves. Either way would be cool. I'm just curious which way you're going.

we'll be adding where we see fit, it won't be just 3 models forever. Eric will be contributing his art to the brand, but not in the normal sense of on the products.

When does the all in one ski/splitboard combo come out?

Split board skis with integrated boots and outwear, coming Fall 2032.

Some info about construction and materials would be nice

We're adding to the site. They're currently made of Caruba wood, ABS sidewalls and race bases, the aero has some titanal in it underfoot and they all have metal tails.

Since we started building assets during a pandemic it is a limited offering initially and no doubt we'll be producing.

Read this piece that just came out, EP lays it out quite well.

TL, DR: “I recognize the influence I was having was a positive one, but it was to a point that actually felt almost like other brands were taking something from me,” he says. “So when I sat down to begin Season Eqpt., I just wanted to draw from the beautiful simplicity of raw utilitarian equipment—like an old camera, for example. A durable, black camera is built for you to create your own experience. The object is not supposed to be your actual expression. It’s your tool to go express yourself. And that’s how we see our skis and boards.” - eric pollard

ahhhh ok, that's rad. reminds me of the brand need essentials: all black, to the point, non-pretentious, classic.

I guess I'm still confused at who is conflating their topsheet w/ their skiing style. Never seen or heard of anything like that, but more power to ya. And good luck w/ the SEO, I tried a bunch of other combos and nothing. But it sounds like you guys know everything about digital marketing!

Cool outlook, awesome approach to sliding on snow honestly. One of my favorite parts about EP is how influenced by snowboarders and surfing he is along with art and skiing. Just a brand selling stuff to all who love riding around on snow.

Big EP fan here. From nimbus films to his skis. Was really great to see him back at it after the leg injury, drawn from here was a great look into what it took to come back. From elizabeths to bacons and mr pollards opus I've had a handful of EP skis. After a winter in japan on the mr pollards opus I decided when I go back I wanted to take a pair of pescados. I've spent a handful of days on the sakana but havent skied the pescado yet.

How does the new forma stack up with the pescado? Little longer, and a little slimmer... similar skiing? Weight?

Are you guys gonna offer any type of pro form for industry workers?

Genuine thanks for the contributions to the sport. Can't wait to see how season eqpt. grows.. really hope we still get some movies, even if it isn't traditional nimbus crew.
