Jet skis are live for anyone wondering. I don’t really like either graphic tbh and 180 is out of both sizes, but they introduced 190..

what y’all think?
 
phantoms are hot af, idk both models sound like they are a bit stiffer?? compared to the past? I don't know enough about how jets actually ride tbh

If I hadn't just bought Wide+ I strongly woulda considered giving them a try

Those are the ones I like. I think older ones ride like the keys but are a little more stiffer from what I’ve heard

Yea , I would say hate but just joke around and become a meme. But I wish they had more sizes of 180 and more about them was known like durability
 
Yeah let’s buy 5-600 dollar skis off someone who claimed the Blues were “same as gen2” but made them soft as wet cardboard hence hella pairs are snapping. Lol naw.

They had durability down pretty well with gen1 and gen2 I’d say but gen 3 (blues) is a total flop for my above stated reasons ^^

Yea, that’s why I didn’t buy any this year because of the durability issue from last year. I understand being all underground and gatekeeping but I want to know about a ski and how it’s made. Emmet does a fantastic job with that

Yeah I don’t think the guys’ smart enough to break down the construction/ durability enough anyways so I’m not surprised haha.

Jet ghosting people trying to warranty their gen 3's that snapped like toothpicks has me not trusting anything they drop.

Yeah does the E in the base still fall out though?? Heard of that happening on a bunch of gen 1 and 2

I’ve heard main issue with gen 1 and gen 2 is the side walls are lacking. Don’t know why because I trust the never summer company but do they mess with durability to make the ski more flexy?

Flexier skis are less durable no matter who makes them. Think about it: as the ski is bending, the different layers of wood and fiberglass topsheet sidewalls etc are all going to compress and contract differently, which will create shear forces between the materials. So it’s a lot harder for the ski to hold together. Skis like old Völkl walls that were stiff af were bombproof but they sucked to ski on.

I’ve seen pics of the E falling out on here. A guy at my brothers local had a pair, my brother was a ski tech and fixed the boys skis a bunch. I asked him what he thought of the durability and he said “pretty good except the E fell out” lmao

Yes that’s still an issue but not necessarily their fault, just a flaw of die cut bases.

You’re not wrong. What makes the difference tho with snapping (the only durability issue that can’t be ignored) on these skis is the sheer thickness (or should I say thin-ness) of the wood core. They went too thin on those blues. You could even argue that the gen2 (black with faces on tip and tail) was designed with too thin of a wood core because a number of those snapped too, nothing crazy though.

I think the way Icelantic / neversummer builds their skis is slightly flawed in that aspect. They have the flex nailed for “soft skis” but there’s too much fiberglass, not enough wood. When I’ve mounted jets / Icelantics I notice I’m churning through fiberglass layers for quite some time before I actually start chewing up the wood.

Vishnu makes soft ass skis and they don’t have an issue with snapping as far as I’m concerned. I can remember when that brand first became a thing and I think I’ve seen maybe 4 total pairs snapped here on NS or IG or whatever. Reason being, their wood core is noticeably thicker. Not nearly as much fiberglass. It’s odd how they keep ‘em super soft tho.

TLDR: There’s not a direct correlation between softness of a ski and chance of snapping.

Valid points, vishnus are nice and beefy which is 100% why they don’t snap. But I bet the durability on pluses is a little better.

also, I do blame jetskis for the E falling out. They should know that die cut bases potentially have this issue, so why would they put the logo RIGHT under the boot, on a rail ski?!? And this has clearly been an issue but they seem to just be ignoring it? I expected them to change it but I guess not

Wides and keys both hold up a lot better than wets. I had the same issue when I had faction, the dye cut sucked and the base would crack easy or stuff would fall out.

even though the die cut bases are an issue i’ve got a homie who’s been rocking his jets without some letters for multiple seasons and hasn’t had issues yet

To be fair it does look sickest underfoot. Them and Icelantics have the coolest looking bases IMO.

but let’s be real they’re not smart enough to realize that’s an issue and change it lol

Bro ain’t no way I am rocking a ski with parts of the base fully missing lol that HAS to make you go slower

people are so willing to overlook glaring durability issues if the ski is cool.

Can vouch, homie rips and has only like a 2 inch piece of edge missing, it’s incredible honestly. Those gen 2’s seemed overall good from people I know’s experience.

That’s not bad at all. My only issue with the E missing is water can get in. But an edge can be replaced at a tuning shop for relatively cheap

Zero warranty program and no customer support should be enough to deter someone from buying jets. And they're inventory is "sold out" with no word on there ever being a restock. It could be the greatest ski ever but you're not going to get help when it breaks (and it will.), So you just gave your money away to some stoned swerve skiers for their college business project or whatever.

And you guys can't be serious about the base diecuts falling out and it being okay. Some of you must've been born yesterday. That's called a defect fyi
 
man wtf I hear literally nothing about them dropping and then they're sold out. Im convinced they give like 30 pairs total to their friends, sell 10 to the public and then act like everyone's just too lame to be in the know. worst hype scheme bs ever im this close to making a scalper bot for them out of spite
