Are there any folks that are into screen printing? I dont recall ever seeing a thread about it. It would be cool to get a discussion going. I work for a small shop in PA that prints apparel.

Yo. I have an item I need that no one sells. I need one of those shirts that make you look like you're darth Vader.

Here's the catch. I need it on a non fitted women's low cut tank top. That's why I can't find it for sale. Anyone help me out?

Been looking into Hotronix heat press'es. Do you use a heat press or Screen print? Just want some thoughts on what you think on heat presses.

explain some more of your process. There are a few things that could affect edge quality or a print. like off contact of the screen, the hardness of the squeegee you use, the angle you pull the squeegee.

Ive tried different squeegees and angle and amount of paint.

I think the problem is the off contact of the screen. I dont have a press so I think thats my problem. Any diy presses?

do you have glass on the screen when exposing?

Got into it seeing Yoke Collection do it. Made my own press and now I own my own apparel company. Very fun stuff, can be frustrating without the professional tools/equipment

You got a pic of your press?

I worked as a screen printer for a little over a year at a medium sized shop, we would do like 50-1000 shirt orders typically. Then I decided I wasnt a human robot lol. Its definitely fun if youre making your own stuff though imo. I kinda tried to start a company but in the end decided against it, and have just made shirts for me and my friends when we have ideas. I have a single color hinge press at home which works well, basically a hinge that holds the screen mounted on a table, and I cure with a heat gun.

these were some of my first shirts, feel free to ask questions if there are any

The press must have been pretty good quality considering the detail of those designs. I'm guessing that it wasn't home made...

why would you guess that? Just curious

everything has to be 'homemade' the first time, even in labs ie prototypes

I recently made a longbow press with my dad and I guess it's homemade but it seemed to work.

not shown is the heat cure box, basically a box with foil and lights inside

also, you can print that well just setting the screen down on the shirt if you have the patience as its more time consuming.

PNW printer checking in, working on a small apparel company called Simply Good Attire (SGattire for short). Been busy with school and that sort of BS but hoping to keep the designs coming later in the year and into spring.
