Scratched Lens - HV30

I was filming a project for my media arts class in the spring and ended up getting a bunch of shit in the lens closing mechanism. It hesitates to open and close, makes some nasty noises, and I got a chip in the lens/coating. It's noticeable in low light, and pretty bad in bright lighting.

Is there any way to get this fixed for a relatively low cost?
 
that sucks dude. just contact canon and just ask..plus dude its always good to get a UV filter on the front of those so that shit like this doesnt happen
 
Yeah I know. My teacher was talking about that and I was thinking that it would be a lot more necessary for (D)SLR's because their lenses are a lot bigger and more exposed. Whoops.

Anyone got something other than contact Canon?
 
That sucks. Wish I had one of those miracle quick fixes but I don't. Maybe try going to Wolf Camera or something. The best thing to do is to probably call up Canon and see what they suggest. Not really sure. Sorry.
