Scratchs are alright, I say alot of problems at Whistler on the glacier of cracking and chipping top sheets. Here is how the 1080 is made. The owner of salomon had his own brilliant plan, called the lets fuck this up bad plan. He then sent his skis over to be made is some shit whole factory by underpaid labourers who hate their lives but only work cause salomon has kidnapped their children. Salomon then decides to put foam in their core of their skis made from old stale marshmellows. They then epoxy the entire ski together, and add small lines all over the ski and call it spacey the wonder ski. Everyone at the company is happy cause it costed them 12 cents. They are then shipped to the States and Canada to be sold for 650 dollars a pair. Salomon is happy because they just made 649 dollars off their new 1080 twin.

actually, my preference is the 1080's over the scratches because I can use the 1080's all over the mountain and scratches are park and pipe based

pocketrockets are sick....and the spaceframe technology is awesome, no matter what you say, and i'll bet you 5 bucks that every ski on the market accept for hard core racing team skis are synthetic core by 2005...and salomon doesnt make any more profit than any other company, and if they do, it's only because they make so many skis that it's cheaper

Anyway, If I was too choose between the ROSSGINOL, yes.. the ROSSIGNOL Scratch BC or FS, what should I take?

I ride about 60% non park, and well...new zealand doesn't really get powder days. Nothing like the states do.

So if I got the FS...would it still be sweet for the very occasional time I do happen upon some of that sweet lovin pow?

Scratch all the way i can handle anything with them and the edges make turning hella sweet. They also do powder really easily.

 
ScratcH's, they rock, might scratch easy and chip, but you will get new ones with in a week from Rossi, the 1080 sucks now, needs to go back to the drawing board. But this is just one mans opinion.....

The Scratches rock! they are not heavy, but quite light, due to their THC core. The problem with them chipping and breaking will be solved, rossi is now putting a small thin metal plate underfoot to stop the binder from ripping out. The Scratches that are out there now, more than likely are not being used by the general public, but people that are kind of testing them. That is why the ski got released early. So that all the bugs could be worked out.

the new 1080's are so sick, i dont know what you people are all talking about....they look cool, and are fatter, longer, and stiffer than any other twin on the market, making them the perfect all mountain twin ski...and if you want the best fat all mountain twin...go pockets or volkl explosiv

 
let's say you want to by the scratch , but that's all you have money for. would it ski the same if you didn't have the scratch bindings.

Get some ID One's. I have the Air Ride and they fucking rule. They kill it in the park and handle suprinsingly well off piste too. Indestructible too.

I haven't tried the scratch yet - but I can say that I've tried the new 1080s and they're getting worse, not better... I love pocket rockets, but while they're incredible on powder and slush, they are all over the place on ice, and as I can only really afford 1 pair of skis (but work in a shop - so I can borrow what I like), they're not really an option.

I loved my old powairs - are the scratch similar/better? I'm getting a new pair this season, and I'd like another pair of twins. Being a girl myself, the naked chick design isn't enough to sell it to me...

 
dont the scratches have a different sidewall, like 45 degrees or something. What does that do, can you turn better now or something

 
I tried the Scratches at Whisterl and I LOVE them!!!!!!

I found that they do carve nicley... i like them

way better than the new 1080s (which i also demoed).

The scratches have a 30 degree sidewall, this gives you better edge pressure. and THC stands for tripe hybrid core, a combination of wood, microcell and isocore. Dope Shit.
