I just watched an old interview with Ted Koppel and the president of the church of Scientology, David Miscaviage and was frightened by what i saw. Miscaviage was psychotic and paranoid, blaming 'the field of psychiatry' for all the worlds troubles. He went so far as to say that reporters and psychologists were united in actions of attempted kidnapping and murder. Moreover his defense of Scientology was disjointed and borderline incoherent, he talked a lot but didn't say anything.

The most frightening thing was that his tone and conversational tactics held the exact same unfounded arrogence as those spoken by the one and only Tom Cruise. These people are delusional, dangerous, and far to influential. How can we stop these organized crazys from gaining to much money and to much power that they are beyond control?

This is the interview I watched. It is an entire Dateline plus about 20 minutes, the interview was so compelling they let it run over. If any of you have time please watch it and tell me what you think. These people really concern me. They are hiding behind the rights of a free society to do diabolical things.

Haha, heres an excerpt from Hubbard's (the founder of the church) book, about how members believe they lived past lives:

the whole thing is a bullshit moneymaking thing. one of the main beliefs is the more money u give to the church, the more u learn and a better person you become

Hey, you have to give them some credit, it definently works. Plus, they have Tom Cruise, and he can go Mission Impossible on anyones house.
 
But according to the head of the Church the money isnt going to top church officials, he even says to check with the IRS. So the question then becomes: Does he have sneaky accounting practices OR are Scientologist pouring their money into something they're hiding from the world.
 
yea, i dont know. i just cant imagine why their philosophy would involve people giving money too them, just the concept seems greedy and corrupt. i mean, what happens if your not welathy and want to join? its a religion that basically only the wealthy can afford to be a part of
 
Dude thats the problem, the common moral decencey that you and i seem to posess doesnt exist in the wacky world of Scientology, and apparently people are so dense they will pay through the nose for untested, unproved, sci-fi theories.
 
yea scientology is so fucked up its unbelievable. their beliefs are so twisted. they can only believe what they can see or can be proven by science. but yet they have this wild theory of how life came to earth which could never be solved by science. also they believe heavily in reincarnation...this cant be proven by science either. bit of an oxymoron is it not?

Naw, there is more to it then just that. No normal human being would believe that stuff. Cause that is crazy shit. That sounds like shit I'd make up on the spot when I'm hyper and bored. There has to be something else to do with Scientology. The people are making money. But there must be something else. Like, they must do something for people who join. Maybe they protect them or offer them shit or something. THey sound like a crazy cult that is trying to grow or something. It's werid. Cause in my mind, no one would believe that. Like come on. It's absouloutly 2000% ridiculous.
 
They make you pay for "self improvement" tapes and books, and when I say pay, I mean thousands of dollars. Watch those two videos about the Unfunny Truth of Scientology, some crazy stuff in there.
 
they go after mentally unstable people and people who lack the social skills required to contribute properly to society. so scientology targets these people and brainwashes them into believing they will provide them with enlightenment through their auditing. obviously they dont bring the crazy story down on them first they approach them carefully. scientology has lots of brainpower in it thats how they still exist today. and after watching those YTMND's i have almost never been so disgusted in my life. its incredible the extents they go to. they are a cult and i pity anyone who thinks elsewise
 
They're neither influental nor powerful. Everybody thinks of Scientology as Tom Cruise's alien cult. Until the public's view on Scientology changes, they won't wield any real power.
 
Well, the gradually ease people into it. They seriously brainwash people, so by the time they are learning about all those crazy theories and stuff, they are totally brainwashed to think everyone else in the world is brainwashed, and they are the only ones who know the truth. People really do believe that.

How the fuck does this shit make so much money? Just the amount of power this bullshit has is fucking mind boggling (I've never used that term in my life). God damn before I read this thread I just thought Scientology was just some harmless shit religion that believed in aliens and other such bullshit. I never realized the extent of this fucking scam. The fact that scientology continues to function as a religion within the United States, what the fuck.... If that is not the most blatant and obvious proof that the United States judicial system is fucked then I have no fucking clue what is. I have a scientology church a couple of blocks from my school. This fucking filth is infiltrating our society.

yeah i did some research on that, it's fucking rediculous the shit that they actually believe.

mormons are even worse dude, they believe that a guy named joe smith, seriously, joe smith was the first person to be made by god, and it's unbelievable how they believe just some hobo who says he's the son of god.
