Schools in Vermont?

I was lookin at going to school in Vermont, maybe U of Vermont, and i was wondering how close are any resorts and how good the skiing is. Also, what are some other good schools that may be closer to a mountain. Thanks for any info.

 
if you are looking at schools for skiing, which is what it appears, why the hell would you choose vermont?

middleburry has their own ski bowl...its not very big but i think you ski for free...and its not far from other major ski resorts

UVM is pretty close to Mad River and Stowe. I'd say within half an hour for both.

there's basically like a couple good schools in vermont. one is middlebury, which has it's snow bowl and is kinda close to others, and the other is groovy uv. I'd go with uvm cause it's got the plus's of burlington, the lake, and it's only about 40 mins from stowe, and 30 from BOlton and maybe another 40 to smuggs.

UVM isn't that good of a school though, so if you are going more for school and also for a little skiing on the side I would look more at St Mikes. A little more competitive...but UVM is a shitload of fun. Big party school, lots of heady kids though...whatever floats your boat. As for me i'm skipping the ice coast (I live in CT., been here for too long already) and heading out to Colorado.

 
actually if you look at college reviews uvm always does really well so i dont think it that bad a school i know a lot of really smart people who go there.

 
UVM is actually a REALLY GOOD academic school. and of course party school with an awesome city. The only real choice for colleges in Vermont besides Dartmouth.

plenty of schools in Burlington area to choose from all with a half hour to 45 minutes of good skiing. Stowe, Smuggs, Middlebury even Jay for some of the bigger name resorts

haha...i have no clue. Been to plattsburgh though...that place sucks. and all of the other schools around burlington aren't nearly as much fun or as good of a school as uvm. of course they are all cheaper though, some not by too much.

MC: there's going to be some younger girls in your room so if you could kinda be like a chaperone it'd be great.

actually st mikes is a really good school and is better then uvm in some areas. and middleburry college is by far the best school in vt. very hard to get into and extremely expensive.

st mike's is a really good school actually. it's in a suburb of burlington, nice campus etc too. I'm going to UVM (groovie uv) next year I decided, so if you want to come up and visit give me a holla.

Middlebury is a decent school, UVM is alright too. But DO NOT go to Snow Bowl if you end up at Middlebury, that place blows like a dick.

 
i live in vt. all the skools are kinda good. but uvey groovey is the best choice. and smuggs, stowe and middlebury all suck. everyone shud go to jay. its not crowded, they have the best snow in the east, and its awesum!!! i work threre, i wud know.

Ya I have a buncha friends goin to UVM next year so I will undoubtedly be up there alot and will have to visit ye' all fellow NS'ers. I still have another year in highschool here though.

Johnson is close to Smuggs and that school will accept anyone and I'm pretty sure is cheap as dirt. Middlebury is a really good school and it's close enough to Mad River, Sugarbush, Killington is you don't mind driving a bit... and snow bowl if you want to ski the worst place in the world.
