School Ski Trips.

Who here goes on the school ski trips? I think they are fun, every year we have an overnight trip to stowe or smugs and we ski for 3 days. Its cool becasue i get to ski with the kids who claim shit they can't do(retarded shit like a DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND!!!ONE!!!11!). This year my trip will suck, the guy that runs it said that "He didn't think we liked the long bus ride to stowe" Which is retarded, we all just sleep on the bus and doesn't affect us.

So now this year we are going to Gore, for 35 bucks more. I am not going to pay 350 bucks to stay in state and ski at a small state run mountain and sleep in a cheap hotel bed with another guy. Last year we paid $315 and stayed in a nice lodge (Red fox, for those of you that live around stowe) and we had 3 pow days in vermont with our own beds.

My friends and I are going to skip it and go on our own trip for less. My question to you SG is, do you have school trips?
 
2 years ago a big group from my school went to whitefish MT. it was a shitload of fun even without alcohol and ganj. Our ski club's advisor is chill as shit which made things even more fun.
 
ya school trips are so much fun!! get way too drunk every nights, and then pul yourself out of bed early to get the first shuttle (or walk) to the mountain! Whenever I get the chance I always go. As you mentioned, it's also fun to ski with people that you normally wouldn't ski with, and laugh at the ones that claim all year like DUDE i hit like the BIGGEST jump evaarrr!! and then end up not going in the park, or wrecking themselves ahahah
 
the ski trips at my high school are awesome. they have a trip to stowe, one or two trips to sunday river and a senior trip to jay peak. they're a blast, we leave friday after school and stay in a hotel with a bunch of friends and stuff. the bus rides are fun b/c we watch movies and stop for fast food and it's an all around good time. i can't wait for them this year
 
at least you have a ski club. ours got canceled this year thanks to gapers not taking lessons and going down tree runs. god dammit
 
ya same here, Ski trip was soooo much fun, and it is a shame that we go to gore this year. I say screw that.

This years itinerary:

Leave at 6am

go to west mountain

go to the hotel in glens fall and stay in room all night and share beds.

go to gore next day

hotel thing

go to gore ski a HALF day

eat pizza

go home

Last Year's itinerary:

Leave at 5am

get a full day of skiing at bromley (Bromley is a fun mountain IMO)

Sleep on the bus ride to the lodge

Wake up to see it snowing 3 inches an hour (And continued all night.

Have a night filled with vaporizing weed out of a lightbulb and watching movies and eating delicious dinner

get to bed around 12

wake up at 7

ski all day in the knee deep pow pow (and chest deep on mainsfield) at stowe

Same as the night before

EVEN MORE FRESH SNOW! full day of skiing at stowe

sleep on the bus till fastfood stop

smoke some bud and eat KFC and McDonalds

Sleep.

Get home at 12 and sleep some more.

Over all our trips are SO much fun. Forgot to include how we box out the gondola's at stowe LOL.
 
we just have thing where we go on a bus up to the mountain every saturday in season and its sick cause we get a small discount on tickets and shit if we ride on it
 
so that sucks a lot, your last year thing was sick. it's really cool that they went to two different mountains on the same trip.

and bromley is such a fun mountain, me and some friends went there and it was so warm we skied shirtless haha.

 
we used to have a sweet trip to big sky but now the band teacher that normally took us left the school so i dont think it will happen :/
 
well if you go with just a couple of friends, the trip will cost more per person so be warned. your school gets group discounts so maybe they couldnt get the same deal with stowe this year.

my high school always tried to get trips from maine to vermont for a trip to jay peak and stowe. never happened in the 4 years we tried.
 
its a bullshit story. let me first say that skiing doesnt even make the top 15 in the 15 most dangerous sports in america.

now, our club was in the red before because of people getting hurt, a friend and i saved it for 2 years. last season some kid who was a part of the club but went on a DIFFERENT day, hit a tree and has permanent spine injury. now, because he was a PART of the club his actions acted for the whole club itself. and im betting he never took lessons. like most kids dont at my school.

another thing is that they canceled it durring summer break and didnt tell us anything about it.

 
our school goes to northstar every year for 3 days. My two friends and I are the only kids who actually ski every weekend, everyone else claims to be hardcore shit when they actually suck. We just lap pinball park all day its mad fun to show off to your friends
 
I think that would be pretty awesome to have. but at the same time not so much cause i hate when gapers try to claim how good they are when they suck.
 
yeah im an officer of the Union College ski club are trips are fucking sick. It twenty bucks for a ticket and bus ride on weekends and on Wednesday nights we ski for free. we also have a weekend trip for 60 to jay. the club also buys beer for people on the trip. we also ski nice mountains to and switch it up everytime. The schedule from last year was:

Jan. 17 - Mount Snow

Jan. 24 - Okemo

Jan. 31 - Gore

Feb. 7 - Sugarbush

Feb. 21 - Whiteface

Feb. 28 - March 1 - JAY TRIP

March 7 - Stowe
 
yea every year the kids come to our home mountian and its gay i truely hate it cuz theres only like 2 kids at my school that actually know how to ski and one of them sksi park with me and is actually not that bad. i just hate the kids at my school basically ahahah
 
we dont actually have trips we have something caled ski club where we go to the local mountain every friday from like 330 you 9 its pretty tight im so stoked it starts in 2 months
 
We have one trip a year to Killy. Pretty fun. We stay in a really nice lodge, with hot tubs, and everything, and we ski for 3 days.
but that blows about your trip. Too long of a bus ride? Seriously?!
 
it was actually a problem with money, we get endowments every year and we didn't get anythis year. Also the place we stay at brought the price WAY up, like $200 more, they actually raised there price last year, but since we have been going there for over 20 years they gave us a brake. How much do you pay to go to killy? i love Killington and that might be a good place to go instead of gore.
 
last year we were gonna go to killy, idr the price but it was a four day ski cuz we were gonna skip the friday's school day to go. then the bitch that ran the thing broke her leg two months before the trip, so the whole thing was cancelled. blown.
 
last year we went on a trip to okemo in january, fun trip, but in the hotel we stayed at there was another school staying there, i remember getting food in the lobby the one morning when i saw a kid from the other school wearing an EC headwear hat and a jiberish hoody, i thought to myself theres no way this kid isnt on NS, so i walked up and greeted him with a friendly "How do you get to chads gap from the bottom of alta?" he responded "Ski patroll blew it up!" NS callout worked! he told me his username but i forget it, didnt expect to see a fellow NSer in the same hotel with a bunch a gapers from either of our schools
 
my school (near pittsburgh Pennsylvania) took a plane to winter park, CO last year as our big trip. it was incredible, it snowed like non-stop, i was in love
 
My school has a 150 kids (30 in each grade) and we're a bit separated from the main school which has 2000+ and we go to whistler every january for 3 days. Its awesome because we're such a tight group and everyone knows eachother. Its something like 250, 300 with everything included I think
 
we got a grad ski trip to big white in january. so stoked get to ski with all my homies and the party for like 3 days
 
The only reason I'm learning gnoll flips this season is for my school ski trip.
I would be legendary.

Looks kinda like what my high schools gonna do this year, were in VT. the teacher that runs it is the SHIT. so hopefully we'll get some good trips.

our school has the dumbest ski club i have ever seen.

every friday there is a $7 bus to 7springs which is 50 minutes away. they have to report back to the bus at 9:00 and it is mandatory that they ride it home.

so all the gaper kids ride the bus and anyone who can actually ski/snowboard just drives up so they can go crash or party after skiing instead of riding the bus back to the school.

the club is so full of fail
 
few years back in highschool we went to smuggs (stayed at redfox in as well)
had 2 powder days with waist deep. fuck ya.
 
we ski every wednesday for two months at a local mountain, and occasionally have a saturday trip to a bigger place farther away
 
the only thing we do is last year we went to crotched for the day. im not complaining tho, it was fun. hopefully we'll do it again. im tryin to get my athletic director do something more tho.
 
damn, that would be a sick solution, Killy is only like 30 minutes further than bromley from where i live. Do you know lodging info? I am going to email my ski trip coordinator. He might like this alternative.

Guys, what weeks do you go on you trips? Just incase we might be at the same places at the same times.

We go during president's week for 3 days, usually wed, thurs, friday.
 
goin to JACKSON in january courtesy of the UConn ski and snowboard club, of which i am not a member, nor do i even go to UConn. sick.
 
Yeah it's a great place.
Sorry, but to be honest I have no idea of the name of the place we stayed last year. And I won't know till November. But my best advice to you and your ski trip cordinator, to get a good deal, is look at the local places(as opposed to chain hotels/lodges). They usually will give a great deal if it's a big group.

at my school there are about 5 people that go skiing or snowboarding. me and my freind are 2 of them and the other three a gapers. so fuck that
 
My school sends about 50 people to snowbirdand alta for 5 days...we stay at the cliff lodge...we do whatever we want and last year we got snowed in
