So i'm on my school ski team as an excuse to get more skiing in, but its actaully amazing.

Ten of our best racers race varsity, me and some other kids switch around the 8, 9, 10 spot and the 1 and 2 spot of our JV team. The top two varsity racers, race for their mountain, but for school they just fuck around, its amazing.

ok so we're undefeated. We race a team with a ton of kids who are serious about racing, they huddle up before races and do some gay shit, we take our time and screw aroudn, they show up in their GS suits and all that jazz, out top two racers today races in jeans and a sweatshirt, one was only in a plain shirt. most of the time the one in the plaid shirt skis with a backwards hat on, he has to wear a helmet to race though. he got interviewed when he beat the second best team (next to us) in area about how he wore jeans and a fleece, and he just said they all look goofy, he wont break that out till sections and states.

We take it like its a huge joke, except that our number one racer is like 3rd best in the section and doesn't give a shit, and we have some kids in GS suits, but that race like 4, 5, 6. its jut a party out here.

so we made sectionals as a team since we are undefeated and hopefully i will be racing number 10 on varsity so i get to go, its going to be a day off from school just messing around and getting to ski.

just thought i'd share. who else is on a school ski team? you guys super serious or mess around or what?

 
Our team was the chillest, most down to earth team in the whole thing. It was funny to watch all the racers get into the start and the other team mates would be yelling stuff and jumping around and getting syched. Our stoner team would say to each other "Dude, don't crash or else you get to go free ski the rest of the day."

We hated racing so crashing was an insentive to not take a second run and go ski the rest of the mountain. So much fun, we used to roll around in the snow too. All the teams would sit around by the start gate at the top of the hill and our team would be digging out seats on the side of the run to sit in or we'd all be chilling in the woods watching the race and talking.

Great times.

We all did that same thing too, we joined so we would get out of school on tuesdays, fridays and get free rides on saturdays.
 
only problem with out mountain is that its more like a hill... and more than half the time all the snow is on the face (the main course) and the girls course, so like going around a skiing by ourselves is useless... its a shitty moutain, i could build a better park in my back yard if i wanted too...
 
That sucks man. We went all over to different mountains in Colorado to race and I don't ski park or care about racing so I would end up just chilling in the woods with my friends or skiing trees and stuff. It sucks going to places like Beaver Creek and Copper when you don't know where anything on the mountain is.
 
this sounds so much like my ski team junior and senior year. we used to catch the last chair up the mountain b/c the T-bar would stay open for us down below and we would head to our secret spot and session a few bowls and show up at the course ripppppppped. take a few runs and then stop on the bus ride home at a store and load up on snacks. such a fun team and we had some of the best skiers in the state as well. high school racing was a good time. so much more fun than USSA shit.
 
Yeah my high school race team was a lot of fun. I was on varsity all four years, made it to state my junior and senior year, and my senior year I was the captain. High School race team was a lot different than the resort ski teams, it was so much more fun. Now that I'm done with high school though, I don't really think I could go back. It was fun while it lasted.
 
thats soooo sick man, you got to go to all these mountains free? shit, you could fit about 10 of my mountains in one of those mountains...
