Schizo Owners - Whats the deal

About to head out to my local shop to pick up some 179 kung fujas. Only question remains- Should i get with Schizos?

Worried about the jig problems, weight issues, and them being made by marker.

HAs anyone had any problems? Does the entire schizo system add mad weight, making it hard for switchups, spinning? Does it affect Swing Weight?

Will i not even notice it at all?

Thanks

can't help you there, but I'd be interested in hearing from other people too, because some time in the near future, that's going to be my set up (kung fujas and the schizo binding)

The griffon schizo is 2100. The normal griffon weight is 1900gram.

I would also like to hear some experience of people.

Even if bindings do weigh alot, the heavy weight will have almost no effect on spin weight. All the weight is basically underfoot, it will only effect vertical weight, not lateral.

I do not have the schizo and I have not heard anything bad about them. I actually haven't heard anything about them at all. I would trust them. If you plan on wanting different variations of performance out of the ski, go for it. But if you think you will do just fine at one mounting position then get the regular griffon.

I'm fairly certain that if i had a pair of skis mounted with schizos i'd forget backmounting when i'm cruising pow and i'd forget moving them back to center in the park...
+i'm a radical believer of mounting skis @ sidecut center and not anywhere else...

the schizo system is worth it if you so a lot of riding on different terrain, if you just stay in the park all day i wouldn't get them.
There won't be any jib problem, you mount the rails before the rest of the binding goes on.
Super easy to use, hell you don't even have to step out of the binding to move it forward or backward.

i have the jester schizos on my jjs, one of the best ideas i've had in a while. i dont feel like theyre any heavier than my other jesters, and they def take a beating. og with the schizofrantic system

my dad just screw his griffon schizo last monday.. the metal wire who hold all the piece togheter decided to broke in two pieces and snap the little pin who hold the whole binding... such a nice thing !

i will agree with you totally on bi-directional/symetrical skis (newschool skier of course)

i have mounted to many skis dead center for people that just don't get it.

Whats the difference between the Griffon schizo and the griffon schizo frantic that K2 delivers their skis with.

On K2 skis with the schizofrantic system the schizo plate is mounted at the K2 factory. Pretty sure that's the only difference. Correct me if I'm wrong..

Correction: they come with predrilled holes for the jester/griffon schizo bindings, so no drilling of holes will be needed at the shop..

So far I like my 179 Kung Fujas with the Schizofrantic system. I bought the Kung Fujas as my only ski for this year, so getting them with the Schizofrantic system made sense. So far I've mainly ridden them at +4 and like how they ride there. It's a marker binding so quality is there. I thought bindings might move a bit after hard runs, but they have stayed exactly where I set them. Only thing I noticed is binding makes small clicking noise from front; newer tech installed them at my shop, need to double check torque spec on mounting screws that should fix problem.

- K2 offers certain factory team ski's with a Schizofrantic inserts, they are similar to snowboard bindings hex nuts, that are inbedded into core of ski. This provides increased strength and prevents bindings from pulling out.

i bought shizos with my line chronics and so far they are working well. they still spin pretty easily so like people have mentioned earlier, i dont think any extra weight has a large effect. and if your doing a lot of different terrain, they are pretty damn usefull

and ive given them a few hard smashes against rails and such and they are holdin together well.

I just bought a pair of 179 Obsethed with Schizos. They are frigging awesome. I was cruisin the park some hardpack for the first few days. 2 days later we got hit by a ton of powder. I was able to move them back and ski the pow all day. At first I hd flashbacks of my old Line Reactor Bindings exploding mid-run, but they seem pretty durable. I've been shredding all over the mountain with little to no problem at all.

But like people said. they are really only useful if you ski varied terrain. If you ski park/big mountain only then you are better off just getting a regular mount and saving yourself 200 or so grams

The only problem is that you only get one key with the bindings. You can use a big screwdriver, but it doesn't fit well.
