If there is one thing to enjoy about having shitty road conditions from the winter's start to finish in the Canadian prairies, it's that this shit doesn't happen because our drivers are all well adjusted to the road conditions.

Oh shut up, it was a sudden white out with instant reduced visibility so people didn't have time to slow down before they saw the pile up. I drive 60-70 in light snow too, no big deal, but when conditions are changing that fast i imagine its difficult. Its a 150 car pile up for gods sake, these kinds of things dont happen every day and you can't blame it 100% on the drivers. Saying that "your drivers" are better would have prevented 150 cars from crashing is a massive jump.

Arguing about this on the internet is going to be unproductive and stupid; it wasn't even my intent make it this way. So in an attempt to make everyone happy I'll retract my previous statements and replace them with the following.
In the Canadian prairies we never get regular snowfall, or lake effect snow squalls. Even if we did our roads wouldn't stay icy for long because we have high traffic volumes and temperatures that often hover around the 0C mark. Not to mention everyone here drives snowploughs just in case. Even at that all of our drivers here suck, including myself. So much so that we have frequent traffic pile-ups, especially in my home Province of Manitoba.

OMG let me tell you about how bad the roads are in Duluth.
Honestly though we had a radio ad run recently where the sheriff Said something to the effect of "winter driving is a part of our lives for many months a year, lets act like we've been there before." haha it was awesome.
