Scam ski team?

Have any of you guys joined ski team as a "racer" but ditch the team when you get to the mountain to ride park? Kinda want to do this to miss school and get some extra days in during the school week. Also we do not have a freestyle team only racing

Local school has just a race team and I know some kids from it who do that. Doesn't seem very uncommon, some of the kids don't even enjoy racing but just want it so they can skip school and ski.

i go to public school

Same with me and the team I'm talking about. Some people just do it for fun and not with parents money.

Definitely do it even if u get to be on hill more. I was never into racing but it will definitely make you a better rider in the long run and will even help you as a park rider. The ability to properly carve and flow through odd snow features and what not is such a sick part of riding that people miss out on. Definitely join the team even if u don’t get to ride the park.

Did this at college. It was a racing team. I went to every practice and just lapped park. They had a “practice team” that was $200 for jan-march of skiing 3 days a week

Hell yea do it. I did the exact same thing in HS with a couple buddies, good times! Rode park instead of practicing ever and raced in a hoodie on my beat-ass twintips and still came in second on our race day ?

Ski team at an Ohio school was such a silly concept. It was 35$ for the year and it basically just bought you the ability to go to their parties and the racing events that they participated in. So of course I never joined. Still skied with most of them at the local.

Did this for my high school but they had a rule that you had to ski at least one run through the gs course so I'd pull through on my dull ass BDogs lookin like a fool before heading back to the park

I'd say just get a season pass to your local and lap the park instead of trying to duck out you'll probably get more time on the hill that way anyways

bro I said so I can skip school and get more days im already going 1-2 times every weekend

I tried that last year but it didn't really work out, fucking hate racing. Coaches got pressed whenever I came to practice with park skis and almost got kicked off tha team on 2 occasions?

Yeaa our 'coaches' were teacher volunteers with no ski racing experience so we got away with doing whatever, might be more difficult if your school takes it seriously

Yup, our coach was cool enough to actually encourage this. We'd do the races/training, and then head right to the park with any free time we had left. Probably my fondest high school memory was cuz of the racing team. Racing and race training will make you such a better skier, and translate nicely into the park due to edge control and shit.

When I was 14 I was in a ski race team .. I remember at the end of the day I had half of the recorded slalom times of the other rider because I was skipping runs to go in the park and straight air a shitty jump with a shitty suit and some race skis.

To ski is better than not to ski so do your math
