if i was to make a relly big pile of snow in a totally shaded area, you think it will last until, well late may i suppose..? i just dont want to do it and have it melt, but i wanna be able to use it when the snows all gone.. and i live north of calgary alberta, that sort of climate...

try getting a tarp with a really reflective outerside. that reflects the sun. that would be your best bet i think

Whaleback in NH uses snow from the winter all the way through the summer. Just dig a big hole, line it with insulation and put a cover on it. All they do to have a rail jam is take the cover off and start shoveling.

find an area that's kind of low and in a well shaded area, then take a reflective tarp and lay it on the ground/ditch then put all your snow on top of that then put another tarp on top of that and you'll have snow for a while after everything melts
