I searched and found nothing and i am in kind of a hurry so i couldnt search that extensively.
does anyone know how to upload final cut pro studio onto your external drive as opposed to your computer. my macbook is low on space and after checking out fcs i dont think i will have enough room.
thanks in advance!

saving shots on your external hard drive and having the program run on your computer is still too much? why not take off some stuff from your computer and put it on your harddrive to free up some space?

When you install FCS just dont install all of the stock audio and video that comes with it. Thats like 90% of the memory it takes up. This is if you are installing the entire studio not just FCP.

move off stuff from your hd onto your external, and then install fcs onto your hd. trying to run programs off an external isnt the best, it will run much better (faster) from your internal hd

in order to get optimal performance you will have to install it to your hard drive (internal). and then you save all the files/video clips to an external (much easier). You can just install final cut pro and all the other programs without content which is about 4gb. If you dont have that much space on your computer's internal hard drive i suggest you move some files around and do it! you dont need all the content for the other programs (50gb or so). IT is just a waste. i did it and never use it. lol
