Is anyone else taking the SAT tomorrow. I will be trying to up my score of 1750. I got a 610 in critical reading, a 590 in math, and and i blew the writing with a 550. I really am focusing on math since I want to take a business degree. i've been studying a lot and gotten a tutor.

damn i gotta take em too its gonna suck

i wonder if they call em the SATs and purposley put em on SATerday

you don't even know how much they suck if it is your first time. There is no way you can mentally prepare, unless you take 8 hour tests on complete bullshit, while never having to hear a sound the whole time.

yeah seriously the first time i took it by like the last few sections i just wanted to get out of there. i think it would be better if they fucking put some music on or somthing. im taking them again in november and I really dont want to think about college yet. FUCK

get some sleep, get up early, eat a good breakfast, and just chill out and you'll be fine. the hardest part about those tests are, like people have said, you get fatigued mentally. if you had a lot of time, you can practice having to focus constantly over long periods of time. the conditions don't have to be exactly the same as when taking the test; you just have to exercise your ability for prolonged mental focus. for you who's taking it tomorrow...just relax. stressing will fatigue your mind faster than anything. now go do that thang.

I am a SAT tutor. All of my kids checked in, and they're set for tomorrow for the mostpart... so, got any questions?

No, it needs to be a 5 paragraph essay, an intro, three good examples, and a conclusion. A conclusion is the most important part, you basically fail if you dont write one, so 2 minutes before the end of the essay, start writing it, no matter where you are. Its better to leave out an example than a conclusion.

Also, a good thesis is not hard. Look at the first line, the question they ask you. Agree or disagree. Literally saying "I disagree that Blahblahblah" will net you a 4 or above, while making it a little less obvious that you're simply choosing a side will get you higher. The essay needs to be structured and formulaic, dont try anything original here.

Explaining your ideas and making it completely obvious how they support your thesis is key. But the majority of people cant do this, so its better to go with three weak points of evidence than two weak points. And yes, you can talk about anything, even fabricate evidence (dont do it tho, it pisses off graders and they slaughter the rest of your essay).

Yeah, by evidence I mean examples, news, history, movies, books, whatever. Stay away from your life experience and hypothetical examples.

As for good writers, 2 great examples are good, but what will net you a perfect is 3 body paragraphs. If you get your essay set up and can start writing within the first two minutes, you should shoot for three. Very few, if any, two body paragraphs get a 6.

good luck those are really good scores and would be difficult to beat i heard tho that the SAT is harder and students do better on ACTs

well i have them tomorrow, for the second time, what am i doing up right now

goodnight and good luck everyone!
