Sasquatch 2011

DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 OMGGGGG, Modest Mouse, Sleigh Bells, Cold War Kids, Flaming Lips, The Drums, Tim Minchin, Axis of Awesome, The Radio Dept, Foo Fighters, The Local Natives and City and Colour = me hating that I don't live in America. Enjoy it twice as much for me ok?

Fair point, but I would rather a small festival of the line up above than a massive festival of acts I probably won't wanna see that much. Who knows, maybe Glastonbury will surprise me this year.

As long as Reading is sick I'll be happy.

The Antlers Cotton Jones Sleigh Bells and especially Death from above 1979 rule that list. I hope I can manage to hit that up and then hood.

Flaming Lips, Flogging Molly, Sleigh Bells, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, The Antlers, Noah and the Whale, Dan Mangan, Major Lazer, Bassnectar, Ratatat are on my must-see list.

if they play The First Days of Spring, it will easily be in the top 3 best moments of my life. love that song

Well it depends what you're into as well. But there are big festivals all over the place. And even thought i;ll never go back bonnaroo is a pretty fucking big fest in ny. 110,000 people tent to tent, raging is pretty big.

I don't really like festivals that don't have camping. It messes with the flow for me. I enjoy wondering. At big fests I catch a little bit of a ton of bands and then the full sets of the bands I really want to see. I like to be able to wonder back to my camp and grab some beers, hang out, walk around and meet other random people.

That's why the small festivals are so fucking sick. Good price, solid bands, and friendly people. Would rather go somewhere comfortable than be with 100k bros.

i would love to.

but it's normally over memorial day weekend...

and this years line up for Global sounds absolutely amazing to me.

i've seen a good number of the people playing on both friday and saturday and would love to see them all again.

Tickets purchased. Has anyone ever used the portable showers there? Just wondering because last year I was pretty disgusting by the end, and now adding another day...

Your smell is a badge of honor, plus its sasquatch nobody gives a fuck. My group of friends always drive down to this small town like 5 minutes away. It is right on the Columbia River and we would just go swim and chill in the morning before the concert would start. Leave the campground and stay on that road (I think its called silica road) go for about a mile or two then take a right on Wanapum Drive which will turn into Sunland Road and stay on this and you will go down the gorge to the river. Find the park and hit up the nice green grass and river.

^^That actually sounds super nice, might have to try that this year if we can get up and drive.

It's a music festival, they aren't. You'll be asked by many people every day if you want to buy anything, don't worry.

Sweet just making sure. This is my first year going so i am kinda a n00b. Any tips of things you must do to make your experience that much better would be appreciated.

Funny story about drugs actually... last year some people I know bought acid that was on a ritz cracker. Most of them took it before they went in, but one of the kids just put it in his pocket, wrapped in tin foil. Going into the venue, the security guard asked to see what was in his pockets, and he pulled out the aluminum foil. The guard opened it and saw the one single ritz, and the kid said "I'm hungry" and grabbed it back, and got away with it haha.

I think it would be impossible not to have a good time. It was the best weekend of my life. Just go into it with an open mind, be willing to see new bands, get pushed around by the crowd, and try new things. Also maybe figure out a way in advance on how to bring stuff into the concert (food, clothes, other things). It's really annoying to wear a backpack, but sucks to not have any other clothes or food or water. I'm honestly thinking about bringing a fanny pack, fuck yeah.

Hahaha. Ya i just going in with an open mind. The one thing i was worried about was food. Are you able to leave and get food or should you pack a shit ton in a cooler or something.

Ya i was gona go, but they sold out of single day tickets like the day of.

I am trying to find them for less than 190 somewhere. If someone knows where i can buy a cheapish saturday or sunday ticket that would be magnificent!

yeh i was plannin on just gettin 3 days but got forced into gettin the 4 day pass. ill sell you a thursday pass lolzzzzz

lol you should check out the sasquatch facebook page theres some hilarious gems

"i have an extra 4-day pass, i will trade for a huge bag of molly and 1000 glowsticks"

Me too, thank god. I have some friends who didn't get them in time and spent around $500 last night on tickets on ebay. Ridiculous.

For whoever said you can see the stages from the campgrounds-yeah, you can, but it's like a mile away.

Also, not that I would recommend it because I've only seen it work once, but last year a kid we knew hopped the fence and somehow got past security. We saw other people try that and get tackled by the security people, but he just ran past and got a free day

yea i know at least 1 or 2 kids last year who just cruised in through the gate where everyone leaves from as people were walking out, and somehow they made it in.

meh Macklemore will be at my prom.. no biggy, haha but ill be out there too! should be dope, hopefully not as much fucking UC bullshit

not sure if you have been but this is not true there is quite the gap between the campground and the stages. you cannot see or hear anything from the campground

flaming lips, ratatat, cold war kids, modest mouse...the list of my stoked on goes on and on

find me there and i can make you roll in exchange for moneys :)

I'll be there the WHOLE weekend. I plan to either be frying my balls off, incredibly drunk, or rolling. So if I do see or meet you, apologies.
