Anybody go? I've heard great things, but never talked to anybody about it. I'd love to go to school in Cali. What's the skiing situation?

My sister goes there and she really loves it. Lots of great parties and the kids seem really nice and laid back. People seem to get great jobs coming out too especially in the engineering fields because of the schools relationships to the silicon valley companies.

As for skiing, tahoe is like 3.5 hours away. On the long side for a day trip but its doable.

big bear is so fucking far thats like so-cal (santa clara is nor-cal bay area ish), but you would wanna shred tahoe and mammoth--and its a trek and a half to get to skiing. if you don't want to go to a school thats close to skiing its really not that cool i have friends that go to Santa Clara and it doesn't sound like anything special. if you wanna go to school in california go to UCSB or UCSD, and if you wanna make a ton of cash when you get out of school go to UC Berkeley, or UCLA.
If you want skiing go to university of utah.

For skiing it's a pain in the ass, but tahoe is for sure closer then bear. USC has that ski team that takes a bunch of trips to mammoth though

It's in Cali and it's private, so you're in the best state and you can actually get classes, unlike UCs.

But I would rather go to a UC. I go to a Jesuit high school in NorCal, and since Santa Clara is a Jesuit school, it's just like my high school but the people are older.

not that rad of a town, however surfing isn't that far like an hour or so away. UCSC isnt bad either they have a class called history of the grateful dead where the guy who organizes their tours and shit teaches the class so its way dope, and its got the sickest looking campus ever cause its in a redwood forest but with a few minutes walk youre on a completely surfable (rather legendary surf spots actually) beach.
