Sandskiing Mountains/Summer set ups?

So after watching this video, damn these guys are hauling. Is there anyway a mountain for summer skiing could be created out of either a sand dune or like a foot of sand put on a big hill? And could you maybe do something similar with a summer setup?

they did this in a Traveling Circus episode and it didn't look like it was that easy to ski down sand

You need a harder surface than the ptex on the base of your sticks. The sand on the dune needs to be extremely fine as well. There is a Signal Snowboards "Every Third Thursday" series where they try to make a sand board but it doesn't work out too well.
